All Blacks v BI Lions Test #3

A few odd things from that piece...
1 He thought we were scrumming for a penalty
2 That he didnt know what the play was
3 We may have been scrumming for a penaltyWho's claiming he's useless BTW? Just he seems well off the form he showed last year in black (he still looks good for the 'canes)...
lots of sensitive wee souls on here, guess after the weekends loss it's understandable.

Geez, time to take a chill pill for some! All this "TJ is shit" nonsense has now been repeated to death and is becoming boring. He wasn't great, but he also wasn't half as bad as you're saying. Aaron Smith also does the arm waving (and yelling); it just seems to annoy you more when TJ does it. He's easily the 2nd best NZ halfback at the moment, but it will be good to see Brad Weber (once returned to full fitness) challenge him for that spot. Pulu shouldn't be anywhere near the ABs ever again.
He could be the halfback messiah, but arm flapping and waving at key moments is useless rubbish - whether it's him or Smith or whoever. A halfback is there to clear the ball, not direct traffic down the street...

Other than that play (which I agree was a monumental Barry Crocker) what else has he done that was so bad? It's not like he was even on the field for that long.

@Rancid-Schnitzel did you watch the 2nd test?
-
@Stargazer said in All Blacks v BI Lions Test #3:
@Donsteppa My guess is that there are very few halfbacks in the world, who stick to clearing the ball only. Yapping and flapping is their second nature!
Yapping is fine. Flapping arms isn't helping any halfback to do their job... especially when their opposite number is about to pinch the ball. ..

Refresh my memory. That's the one when SBW got sent right?
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel yep...maybe you should go back and watch the arm flapping, yapping and ball watching instead of playing rugby.
It seems he is just trying too hard, lack of focus or something, but certainly hasnt been as sharp.

Just like every scrumhalf in the world....
I just don't see that he has regressed considerably based on this Lions series. A Smith however has thankfully gotten back to speed since his toilet transgressions.

Garces and Poite shouldn't even be allowed to ref club rugby
The headline doesn't match the content of the article. Since they don't have the transcript of what Garces said, they can't make that assertion. Nonetheless, I had heard Poite say Oui, Jerome on his way back to bring captains together and wondered what Garces had said.
Poite made his decision of accidental on his view that the ball first hit Owens on the shoulder before he reflexively caught it with his left hand. That's what he is saying to Read.
He played at it. Then, knowing he'd stuffed up he dropped it. The frogs shat the bed
Yes, he played it. After it hit him on the shoulder is what Poite said.
You do realise what you're saying right? That's hilarious. It's not a penalty because it hit him on the shoulder. He only played it after that, so no penalty. Duh, he played it! It didn't bounce off his shoulder and he let it go right? He caught it. Brilliantly Irish.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel yes they can flap and yap, but also focus on playing rugby, maybe I'm being harsh but in a couple of instances last week and then that one this week, he seemed more focused on the flap and yap and not on the ball (or opposition)

Why is an article about Barrett's kicking in 2016 being dredged up as some indicator Hansen is mental? It's over halfway through 2017, show me those stats.
As someone said yesterday, I fear WR are going to remain silent on Poite and Garces, which is shithouse. Garces was just incompetent, but Poite showed some next level dodgyness. They should be fucking hauled.
Fuck we really are the great complainers of world rugby, the only reason we ever lose is because the referee screwed us.
We lost because we played poorly. And didn't take our chances (penalty kicks included)
Beauden isn't a great kicker under pressure.
We would have won the second test if he made a couple of kicks that most other international kickers would have made. Likewise the third... and that's not including the one we turned down from 45 metres late in the game.
I've seen Jordie nail that kick before.
He also cost the Hurricanes the 2015 final with his erratic kicking.
But keep rolling out stats from 80 point wins against Samoa/ The Sunwolves etc to prove your point... kicking under pressure is different
Geeeeezzz....where to start with that.
Firstly - where did I say we lost because the ref screwed us? Secondly, we didn't lose.
Thirdly - why should we ignore glaring fuck ups from the ref just because it's us?
Fourthly, the complainers of world rugby? Are you serious? Can you imagine the fucking chaotic uproar if that call was a penalty, even though that would ave been correct? Even worse, imagine if it was the other way around and the ABs were getting away with the same thing in a kickable postion. Do you not recall media/rugby offical crusades against AB's? We've even had the CEO of WR tweeting having a moan and getting other officials to change their decisions after the fact. Do you not get to hear the Irish after every loss? Fuck me I had an Irishman moaning to me yesterday about how the decision by Poite was payback for the 2011 final and the French being robbed of that game - then Englishmen backing him up.
Fifthly - Is the part in your post about kicking supposed to be an example of Irony? You're talking about International kickers, saying don't roll out stats from Tests/Super Rugby, using Super Rugby to deride Beauden - and then to top it all off, say Jordie would've nailed it. But Super Rugby doesn't count, nor tests against Samoa....that Jordie though, he's done it all at the top level right?

bro, you've been in London too long. The geezer talk is out of control

the ref issue is an interesting one, if you criticise the ref you are a whinger and even when they have a howler you cant call them on it, yet we can blast players and coaches for thier errors.
