    What utter bullshit.

But what really shits me is the decision to go to Dagg off the back of that scrum near the end there. Wtf was that shit?

That was our box of tricks right there. Shit boys, big time attacking scrum here, what have we got up our sleeves? Fuck, I've got it, Smith goes one off to Dagg who hits it up! Brilliant!

Yep. That was right after Hanson hooked the 2 best ball carriers and replaced them with a elf and a headless chicken.

Fuck I guess they deserved to draw doing that shit. Would they have gone one off to Glen Osbourne during the 96 SA tour? Arrrggg what a frustrating farking series.

I know Hansen hardly ever gets any criticism from the NZ media and fans, and that's fair enough to a large degree, but I think he's made an idiotic decision to let his 2nd best goal kicker take the goal kicks. Surely Jordie had to take on the goal kicking responsibilities after what happened in Wellington. I wish a journo would have had the balls to have raised that with him.

Well....I hate to be that guy - but at least until part way through this game, Barrett was kicking better this series than Farrell. And yet Barrett is too shit? Hmmmm. I can see that Jordie would be much better despite never having kicked at test level.

ALB is having a pretty bad case of second year blues it seems. We see the odd glimpse of what he showed last year, but he's been all at sea on defence and pretty sluggish at times.

Laumape and Jordie were awesome, they looked right at home. Jordie still does some odd things I guess born of inexperience but once he irons out his game he'll be cracking - those kick receipts were tops.

I'm intrigued to know what happened in the 3 seconds from when Poite told Ayoub he thought it was a penalty, Ayoub agreed and Poite turned around and walked to Read and made him an "offer".....

What on earth was that scrum penalty for when the Lions got smoked and stood up?

Why wasn't the high shot from Sexton reviewed? He also got away with one a couple of minutes before that too.

Gotta admit it's pretty funny that the Lions finally get penalised for offside and it gets quashed.

What's the bet Kaino gets cited and banned?

Worrying that British/Irish players seem to now be able to make requests to the ref to review any play for whatever outcome they want - when did WR make this directive?

Cracking game. Thought Jordie was surprisingly good, same too Laumape. Lions were very very good. Just didn't come away with the result we wanted. Fair play to both teams. I must me in the drunken reflective phase right now I reckon.

    @Rocky-Rockbottom

    Two counter-points:

    • Gatlands Lions were able to play 80 minutes of rugby, three weeks in a row. he picked players to play a type of game for 80 minutes and they did it pretty well.
    • Beauden needs other players to provide options. The first test team with Smith, SBW and Crotty looked on paper (as was on the paddock) able to attack in so many different ways it was hard to defend against. Tonight the Lions worked out how to contain Beauden and the pressure led to mistakes.

I wouldn't panic and sack everyone just yet...

Though not the result most would have liked, this BIL series has been amazing, each test better than the last

Perenara was poor, again tonight. He's obviously got talent but far too often is found wanting when the pressure is on.

The concern is that we don't really have someone knocking on the door underneath Smith and him. I would've kept Smith for the 80 tonight.

Don't agree with that at all. I'm not saying he was playing well, but IMO he wasn't poor either. He played so few minutes (less than 6 minutes), that he hardly had the time to come into game.

IMO, TJP is one of the players in the squad (another one is Julian Savea) that some people just like to criticise. Sometimes that's warranted, but on other occasions any stick will do to beat a dog.

Could be an interesting season with a few more twists and turns yet ,

Havent seen them myself, but all reports are saying the Boks are turning the corner ,and starting to look the real deal
    England at twickers later on

Not trolling here, but I find that incredible.

I can understand the average Kiwi supporter being unfamiliar with a lot of the BIL players, and vice versa.

But not to have watched the SA provinces and /or SA national team and not know the calibre of your upcoming opponents when you play in the same competition each year is baffling.

    Oh great.... Ian foster.

But don't worry, I'm sure Scott McLeod is a genius

Was a lot of talk that TJ was now the better HB and should start , during the season

I think we have to keep reminding ourselves during Super rugby , this is not test rugby .

They essentially play in a different competition and their fixtures are between 1-5am in the morning NZT.

The average NZ fan can be forgiven for losing their grip on the SA game a touch under the new Super structure - especially if watching all the NZ games, U20s, any NH Rugby, 7s or heaven forbid another sport.

I do look forward to your season preview for Treviso and Zebre in the spring.

@Tim Even a semi fit PT in the last 10 would have added a bit of grunt that we needed. Bodie was buggered and we needed a sub at lock.

Just wondering why there were 3 NH refs for each game. At least they should have had 1 SH ref for some equality.
