    Ferris nailed it in post-match

'NZ quicker to the breakdown when they had the ball, and quicker when they didn't have the ball'

Thought for Sam Cane was very good for most of the game.

@Mokey I only listen to French commentary these days (and I don't understand French). It's a better way to watch.

Watched second half in a bar in hong Kong. Not a lot of lions chatter after we smashed their scrum and ioane scored in the corner LOL

Not a totally polished performance but more than food enough. What was truly horn-inducing was the fact that the abs hammered the crap out of the Lions up front. Farking bludgeoned the shit out of them. Forwards were epic and K. Reid take a bow. Terrific performance. I commented to the bro after about 30 that I didn't think the Lions fatties had the gas and thankfully that proved correct. They had nothing left with 15 to go.

Downsides: Lineout was ropey at times. That wasn't good enough. What was even worse was the chase defense. Maybe I'm not giving the Lions enough credit because some of that play was awesome, but it seemed they were carving at will when running it back.

So, a bit of a weird parallel universe tonight. ABs destroy Lions where they are supposed to have dominance, Lions counter attack far more potent than the abs in similar situations and farking BB kicks like a dream.

    Ah well, I'll take it.

Big question: Where do the Lions go from here? I doubt they'll find the same holes next week.

Well done Lions. O'Mahoney, O'Brien, Murray, Te'o, Davies, Williams standouts for me.

Tackle pressure was good and was impressed that with the limited attacking opportunities in the first half they did score a brilliant try.

I'll be interested to see what changes are made for next week. Personnel wise I think they've got it just about right. Maybe one or two changes, plus a few tactical changes in attack.

    Haven't read the thread yet.

Williams had some good moments and credit to his defence, but hold onto the fucken ball you numbnuts. Put severe pressure on the ABs with turnovers at times.

    Cruden was pretty lacklustre.

A Smith was there for his passing - really disappointing to see him completely wreck a couple of crucial opportunities with super shit passing.

ALB looked quite lost at times.

    Locks and loosies were brilliant.

Taylor needs to sort his throwing, those were 2 big lineouts before he got yanked.

Peyper with some odd calls around the tackle. What the fuck was that when McGrath is crawling along the ground after being tackled twice and then the ABs get penalised? Otherwise well reffed.

I wonder if the NH media will stop with the rubbish around scrum dominance now?

Overall, thought the ABs played pretty ordinary, which is comforting - we can improve a lot.

I was worried about Dagg under the high ball last week but he was very good tonight across the park.

Lion supporters were great at the ground tonight. Close game with intensity, wonderful to be there.

Davies talking about "not slowing it down enough" (paraphrasing) - that's a failure of a strategy. NH teams have been trying that for a decade and consistently losing. They did that as well as they could, but if they wanted to win they needed to take those good chances they got. Execution on attack has to be the focus. Execution in defence always. You can never rely on slowing it down in New Zealand.

    @Bones Start TJP next week?

Dagg to fullback I guess, or do they go for Jordie?

Ioane and Naholo the wings? Or does Savea come back?

Hansen does it to me every time. I question the selections, yet he almost always proves me wrong. His gambles paid off except perhaps for Crotty who was good but always seems to struggle to go 80. Bones right outstanding from locks and loosies, brought more physicallity than Lions. At the breakdown I thought the clearing was excellent , very few turnovers lost and great decisions in contact (SBW possibly a couple of exceptions). Nevermind the great individual performances but ABs just a much better team than Lions or any of the other NZ teams who have played them.

Great game. Forwards dominated in tight giving a big fuck you to the Lions forwards fluffers.

Thought the ref was pretty good overall. A couple of funny calls but overall pretty good.

Dagg the pick of the backs. BB goal kicking was very nice to watch. Has he changed his technique? Didn't seem to stab it as much as usual.

Lineout and kick chase defence were probably the low points. Hopefully B Smith is ok for next week.

I think the ABs can improve a hell of a lot from tonights performance. Fix that kick chase and the lineout and you are in a much better place. Not sure what the lions can do. They made plenty of breaks but they look confused when they get into space. That forward running game the ABs used tonight isn't going to be easy to counter.
