How are the AB's tracking heading into the BIL series?

@Unco I think that article was written for the Sydney Morning Herald so therefore is geared towards that market.
Don't they usually post the source down the bottom of the article when they do that?
-
@Unco said in How are the AB's tracking heading into the BIL series?:
Stuff.co.nz: History shows ABs must seriously consider Jordie Barrett for first Lions test because... Israel Folau.
How do they come up with this shit?
What do they mean ? whats the connection ?
-
@kiwiinmelb Folau debuted in the first Lions test, and scored a couple of tries.
Therefore - if Jordie debuts in Lions#1 - he'll score a couple of tries.
Logic. -

Logic.Because thats how it works
-
I'd also like to stress, if anybody else goes to stuff looking for that article (for a laugh)... AVOID Mark Reason's attempt at humour (something about armageddon when Lions win).
It's fucking atrocious, my eyes started bleeding very early on, and I skimmed the rest searching for anything redeeming. There's nothing. -

Logic.The Wallabies lost that series.
Therefore - if Jordie debuts in Lions#1 - the ABs will loose.
Logic. -

Logic. On the flip side Jordie gets to shag a kiwi glamour!

@Siam Fuck that, only Jordie gets anything out of that. Although, wouldn't he get to shag an Ozzie one?
Logic suggests that to be true Nepia, well spotted.
This play Jordie logic is pretty bloody foolproof! -
I've said it multiple times. JB is a better 12. He's obviously a big unit, has a fantastic pass and an even better offload. He's also a strong close-up defender. Clearly, he has defensive issues at fullback and I'm not sure his giraffe like frame makes him particularly suited for that position.
The only reason I'd select him against the Lions is for his kicking, but asking him to kick on his debut test against the farking Lions is a major risk.
I'm sure he will be a fixture in black someday but not just yet.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel Am in total agreement with you. I have so far struggled to understand all the hype surrounding Jordie as a fullback. He has missed a heap of tackles and lacks top end speed imo to play that position at test level. Would make a class midfielder though.

I do have reservations about his passing - he's got a great wide ball, but other than that, his passing can be a bit wayward - the offloads don't always come off either.

I can understand the desire to fast track the kid just don't see why we need to.
Even BB didn't turn in the force his is now overnight.
I can see a place for him on the bench in one of the tests but can see more value in retaining a Crotty/ ALB partnership with SBW to come on or having 10/15 cover in our utility with DMac.
Please don't try and tell me he covers 10 as well.
JBs time will come either through injury necessity or planning and he will probably be a long termer but no need in this series to throw him in. He has plenty of fine points to iron out. -

Kaino will undergo surgery this week (knee) and will be out of action for around six weeks.

Still 8 weeks before the first test but, sheesh, cutting it fine.
Who would be next cab off the rank, Squire?
