Happy with that. Reds aren't complete easy-beats at home as the Saders found out, but we completely dominated the 2nd 40 and although it took longer than expected to finish them off, we never looked in danger of losing.

This was a great but frustrating game. Great, because the Canes were awesome. Frustrating because of the officiating and manipulation by the video people. Oh, and the commentators can screw themselves.

BP win in the end but the reds should probably have had 50 put on them the way the second half went.
Was a bit farcical with the ref/tmo business. Not neccesarily wrong calls but just not the way a gsme should be officiated. Definitely appeared the tv producers and officials had their eyes on the canes more than the reds. But enough of that.

Ardie looked good but might need to work on his support awareness. Hope he isn't out for long.
J Savea looked strong and has now scored 5 games in a row.

Barretts x2 and tjp also good.

@pukunui who is the TMO out of interest, Bill Pulver tonight?

    I thought it was Marto.

Well that yellow card was an odd one, pretty damn harsh. TJP needs to settle down, getting too wound up and he could talk to the ref a tad better.

Canes missing Vito eh. And Coles i guess!

Well deserved BP win under difficult conditions. The right decisions were made in the end but on another day at least two of those tries probably get given. Hard to pick best players at the moment because everyone is playing well. Having said that Proctor and Ardie were unstoppable. I hope Ardie is ok, it didn't look that bad at the time

I think Proctor needs to be included in the conversation now when the AB centres are being picked. He was seriously good tonight, a whole lot better than Fekitoa has been this year.

What i like about Procter is that he's just a get it done type player, usually very accurate and great reader of the game. Very similar to Crotty IMO.

Ardie Surveyor is a bit of a worry.

Im liking the slimed down Laumape this season. Looks very good. As is Proctor.

Good to see two front line ABs in TJ and Julian Surveyor putting their bodies on the line tonight diving on loose balls with opposing players bearing down on them.

I didn't have an issue with TJ and the way he deals with the ref. I thought the ref was precious and was rightfully shown up at one stage after TJ tried to steal a try off a tap that never was.

We missed Coles though. Also need another loosie option stat. Gibbons was hot shit a couple seasons ago but is lucky to be selected now.

Game was a bit ordinary. Looked like it was going to be 30 nil at half-time, but the yellow card (what the hell was that for?) changed things and then of course the ref kept blowing for tries and then changing his mind. They have to fix this shit. The entire crowd, Reds fans included, went apeshit when he annulled that TJP try. Ultimately people want to be entertained not witness that kind of bullshit. That was goddam farcical.

Anyway result was great and the Canes are a seriously impressive team. J Savea is an utter beast. I won't hear any criticism of the non-fat version. He was Lomu-like tonight. His brother was bloody awesome as well. 8 suits him to the ground. Hope his injury isn't anything serious. Barretts were of course ridiculous. What an incredible double-team. Fark we Canes fans are lucky right now. And I agree with above rating of Proctor. He was all class.

But, while the game was pretty shit, it was a magical evening for a little kid who desperately wanted a selfie with Beauden. I speak not of myself (even though I would very much like one), but my 8 year old son who refused to leave after the game. We were going to wait for TJP who was closest, but we saw BB further away and my son ran in that direction. He managed to sneak forward as only kids can and his day was made.

Seriously what a champion. He gave everything during the game (that dude seriously covers some distance during the course of a game), then immediately had to give interviews. But he then went straight to the crowd and was giving dozens of selfies. He was still doing it when we left, so God knows how long he was out there. A great player and true gentleman. Never thought my man crush could get stronger but it certainly did tonight!

Cmon they don't even look at the tackle on Savea in the air. Fucking dodgy officiating

Savea was having a long chat with the touch judge before the start of the second half. He was clearly pissed off that she'd said nothing.

I was in a Gold Coast pub watching this and heard someone say Laumape was a dog and deserved to be binned. Also heard someone say Surveyor deserved to be taken out in the air....

Thought the ABs for the Canes stood up tonight as did FABJB.
Reds are very poorly coached. Their alignment or lack of it was terrible. They have some good players that could really trouble opposition defences, but they are basically playing league with 15 guys on the field.

Plenty of Canes fans in the crowd it seemed. Every time Beauden got the ball and looked to run it seemed the crowd lifted....

Angus doesnt know the laws, needs TJ to tell him

Wasn't he the same ref that needed to be told by Aaron Smith that it was game over a year or two ago?

I must admit, I don't mind seeing a ref who is open minded enough to reconsider, if it means getting it right.

Looked like Ardie's foot got caught in the turf as he went down then. What a shitty surface for rugby. I get that it pisses down at times in Brisbane but a fucking sandpit is not really suitable for top level rugby.

Sounds like what happened to Israel Dagg in Brisbane - knee surgery and gone for 6 weeks...

Another excellent away win for us. Unbelievable the way the two Barretts were combining at times. Great to see how well the Bus is tracking this time of year as well.

Could it be 5/5 for NZ teams this weekend? Up to you Crusaders..............

It'll be 5 from 5. Tahs have a kid playing 10 and a pack that has shirked the tough stuff for long periods.
