Folau isn't a father, a teacher or small town priest. He's a guy who runs round with a ball.
His father is a preacher so ... He's the son of a preacher man.
And that's Falonk's destiny after footy. The question is how long that will be.
The point is that unless he has a direct and controlling influence over someone's life, his views should just be dismissed as those of a rugby player and a pretty farking dim one at that.

@Rancid-Schnitzel but kids today are exposed to social media and the PC issues that go with it.
TR Jnr (13) passed comment on Folau this week, saying he is a dumb arse...so have to assume he has picked up on it via IG as I havent mentioned it at home or hadnt discussed it with him.
Kids these days know all about trans gender, identifying as something else, being gay etc...shit I barely knew or cared about at that age.

Thats about where I stopped reading his book, I have no idea what spoofing is because his description made no sense.
No mention of Renee Chignall in there either I hear. -

@ACT-Crusader I think that is what Drew was getting at, in a roundabout way. "Hey Izzy, what has changed here?"
I'm happy for him to get a month's pay and shown the door.
The point is that Drew can’t see past his own hand and fails to acknowledge that circumstances have changed since last year, i.e. Izzy was coming off contract and now he is just into a new one. Very very different.

We have two treads going on at the moment, and it's difficult to separate the political aspects of this from the sport.
Edit - already posted in Politics forum

I bloody near peed me pants when I saw this splendid Page One report today at Planet Rugby!
Click here and you will do the same - I'll warrant Your Raelene reckoned it would be a walk in the park at St Leonards - waddle in announcing an ARU name change, organise a Pink Fete, a Rainbow Fete and a Green Fete and introduce something exceptional - such as free admission for companion animals to Super Rugby matches - then sit back and enjoy the gin and tonic.
Nek minit she discovers Spike Milligan is up above, cackling madly, writing the script for Australian rugby!
For Tolu Latu - he demonstrates why front rowers enjoy a reputation of high intelligence and superior decision making, by realising he's shot, locking himself inside, throwing the car keys in the glove box and settling in for a jolly good sleep.
What does the ARU do? Send in the Integrity Unit MPs to give him a thorough water boarding!

Just in case you are bored with the Folau saga.
The Daily Telegraph in Australia reported that Wallaby hooker Silatolu Latu has been arrested for drink driving.According to reports Latu was found slumped over the wheel of a vehicle not far from Rugby Australia headquarters in Sydney at approximately 04.30 on Thursday morning.
RA released a statement on the matter: “Rugby Australia and New South Wales Rugby Union have been made aware today by the Daily Telegraph of an incident involving Wallabies and Waratahs hooker Tolu Latu.
“Rugby Australia’s Integrity Unit is working with the New South Wales Rugby Union to ascertain all of the facts.”Tongan-born Latu, who has played 12 Tests for Australia, was named on the bench for the Saturday’s Waratahs match with the Reds and took to the field in the 67th minute of the 40-32 Round 14 win in Brisbane.
New South Wales chief executive Andrew Hore said post-match he had no knowledge of the incident until being made aware of the media report and was disappointed considering it followed hard on the heels of the Folau contract termination saga.
“It’s something we’ll obviously talk to Tolu about as we go through the investigation,” Hore said.

@Rancid-Schnitzel although TBF, when you were a kid, there was no social media...cos I bet some players from yesteryear woulda put up some classics (both awesome and incredibly dumb)
Kit Fawcett springs to mind
The 21-year-old found infamy when he claimed the All Blacks hoped to "score more off the field than on" ahead of his sole tour - to South Africa - in 1976. He played two tests and 11 matches but was never selected for New Zealand again, eventually playing out his career overseas from 1979. No word on how successful he was.
off the field or on?
