I thought actually a fair article from Jones - as an opinion piece anyway. It's not written as fact, and presents one side of things.

Rugby has taken some decent strides over the years in ensuring acceptance for people who bat for the other team. It's most high profile ref is open, a lions captain is open & then you have well recognised and supported gay rugby competitions and teams. This didn't happen overnight.

Folau posting things like this could be read as taking some backward steps and in a public forum, does need to be dealt with. Yes, there are contradictions all over the show, but the ARU almost has an obligation to World Rugby to condemn.

Correct me if I'm wrong - and I say that 'cos I know you bastards will, but didn't Folau simply answer a question that was put to him rather than trumpet his views? That's my recollection anyway and if true then I would want to know who posed the question and why?

Can I just slide a wee opinion in here ... and again correct me if I am wrong ... and forgive me (like any Christian would or should do) ... as I forgive the weasel words of those who twitter against us ... but Folau never suggested that homosexuals should go to hell, or that he wants them to (that would be very un-Christian of him).

Hardly "hate speech", more expressing an opinion derived from the Bible that they WILL go to Hell. Not "I hate you and I hope you burn".

You'd hope a Christian would express something more akin to "I hope you are redeemed and don't go to Hell".

WANTING someone to go to Hell is (or should be) anathema to a Christian.

Remember that billboard that "God loves Osama bin Ladin"? In Christianity everyone is loved, including those we'd kind of like, on normal circumstances, to see suffer for eternity.

... geez listen to me ... who am I? Billy Graham?

OK what the fuck... Rebels get a penalty and don't tell the ref their decision for like 2-3 mins. He just waits.

Yep, that was a joke. And karma kicks in and the Rebels fuck it up completely 🙂 🙂

@donsteppa after the ref swallow his whistle again. Nicely done Berry, nicely done.

That was arrogant from the Rebels. Paid the price. Well done Jags.

Tahs too much class for the Reds.

Tahs a totally different side from last year. Not sure theyll have the forwards to really compete at the pointy end but they are clearly the best Aus team.

Shine coming off Thorne's coaching from those fans who think Quade is the answer...

Fact: Reds haven't won with Higginbotham on the field this year

I'm happy to believe this is a clear case of causation.

Our club yesterday: 15 blokes showed up and the other team were all big, BIG boys. The 51yo Scottish prop who should never play above Third Grade wasn't thrilled that he had to start, and he ended up playing the whole game. Luckily one of the guys who came along brought another prop. We fucking dicked them at scrum time - couple of tight heads even, but they had power and pace out wide and we ended up playing with 13 as two injuries mounted. Final result was 86-0 as we just ran out of puff.

Could be worse; we could be Penrith Grade hosting Sydney Uni yesterday:
    0-97
    7-137
    5-98
    0-87

@nta What would be horrible would be to see the aggregate scores Penrith has suffered in the last 10-15 years.

    7-137?

I don't know what is more implausible. That score or the fact Penrith managed to score a try.

My nephew propped the Uni thirds scrum yesterday. Clearly they will need to spend time on their defensive patterns at training this week. At least they made them miss the conversion attempt!

    Match timings, for anybody wondering.

Colts is U20, but Colts 3 is played with U19 Laws.

Israel sets the record straight. An interesting article with a shot fired at the ARU.

It is certainly interesting in that he doesn't understand the picture that what he sees as 'the truth' is not the truth, it is just his opinion.
THE Truth and THE Bible are subjective.

Many employees have to put aside personal views in their jobs and many also have to keep the broadcasting of their personal views to a minimum to show awareness of bias accusations. It isn't an unusual situation. While they keep the 'right' to hold personal views they manage the public view.

It's a little unfair that he says Castle misrepresented him via the comments on the news - TV interviews are whatever sound grabs the editor thinks will make a story.

I've sat through solid fifteen minute interviews about the Powerwall thing that got cut to shreds, understandably due to time considerations. In several cases they left out what both I, and the interviewer, felt were the most interesting parts.

I didn't get that from it at all. I thought he was rather clear that this is what he believes.
