Springboks vs All Blacks 2

Well I think Razor has done well.
And we haven't even got our best player on the pitch.
I haven't wanted to win an upcoming game so much as this one for a long time. -
I’m not so sure razor is under the pump yet, but if we lose this week I suspect there will be people getting their calculators out working out his win loss percentage, which will be below 60 percent . Then the heat might be on .
Win and that sort of talk probably goes away for now .

Just an apology from SA Rugby over the timing issue with flyover etc.
Best wishes
BI mean…very generous…but also - it’s also a bit embarrassing to think that some of us kiwis are genuinely upset about this - its a fucking A380, it’s kinda hard to time and manoeuvre perfectly!
All seems a bit precious to me
" its a fucking A380, it’s kinda hard to time and manoeuvre perfectly! "
Um, no it's actually really easy, and happens at pretty much every arrival into every airport, but your point about preciousness remains!
And if anyone on this forum would know, it's you Snowy.
Not sure the game management had thought of being in direct contact with air traffic control though... And if they were, the bloomin DJ probably drowned out their comms anyway.Yeah the plane would have arrived exactly as it was told to I would think. It's a couple of button pushes to get an RTA in the FMC (required time of arrival in flight management computer). They probably weren't going to have it hanging around burning 100s of kg of fuel a minute, but it would have been on time. I just wonder when it was supposed to arrive? The games is timed pretty much to the second for TV coverage and there would have been some comment if it went over during the SA anthem no doubt.
Anyway, if that's all people have to get upset about, lucky them.
Good to see you around Billy, about time I headed over your way again! -

On the loose forwards, it does concern me that a bunch of people on a forum known for awful analysis, incorrect conclusions and zero insight could see the problems with the squad selections as soon as they were announced, but the coaching group being paid the big bucks couldn't.
The problem is that because Razor was appointed so long ago he and his assistants have had ages to plan and prepare and formulate their squad and the game plan they want to play - obviously lots of Crusaders involved in those plans but not exclusively. And then super rugby happens and the Crusaders are shit and lots of blokes who weren’t in his plans show form and talent. So what we end up with is a complete mishmash that lacks balance in key areas, form, fitness, and also players who complement each other and who can implement the game plan that the coaches want to play. I will give Razor this year to move on from the crusaders and realise he’s the national coach responsible for coaching a team to play and win test matches.
This is a total load of horse-shit, and I'm not a Crusaders fan.
Which Crusaders have let the side down? Taylor? Scott Barrett? Tamaiti Williams? Blackadder? Or are you laying the blame all at Fletcher Newell's feet? Fuck he must be influential.
The underperforming players are from other super teams. The only controversial crusaders selection who has actually been playing has been Blackadder, and he's been good. Get your parochial chip off your shoulder. -

I think if we play well and get close he'll be okay for now. Lose the Bled to the Aussies and the blowtorch will come on
Blowtorch? He should be sacked.

Would like to throw a couple things out:
Paps at 8 with Cane and Blackadder, I think as much as Blackadder doesn't dominate, he's goes well with a Cane like player.
Having Paps at 8 gives us more options as a link player in the middle, as well as a ball runner in the wider channels. Also changes around 9,10,12: At the moment it looks like theres too many leaders or playmakers, it looks a bit confusing, Ratima would be a more passing half to let Dmac run things and outside him ALB as a non playmaking 12.
While the backline went well in certain areas against SA, We need to get more out of it. -

Barrett has dined out on coming on as a sub and rinsing Maro Itoje on the outside to set up a try for the whole season. He has had plenty of gaffes since.
For all the talk of good comms and good positioning etc we conceded 38 against Argentina and 31 against the Boks. If Ruben Love is there are we gonna concede 50?
I don’t know how it can be any worse if we give Love or Ratima or Proctor or Sititi a go. The championship is essentially lost now.
DMAC and Beaudy put us under so much pressure with miracle chip and chases and cross field balls.
Remember the final passage against Ireland in 2013 where Crotty scored in the corner. We went 60 meters ball in hand. Nobody countenanced kicking it away.
Beaudy kicked it away twice in the last two minutes this weekend. He is completely gun shy.
Take contact set up another ruck and go again. We may even win a penalty .
Booting it away twice is ridiculous.
Beaudy plays like he has an imaginary shot clock ticking down, run around and as it approaches zero, boot it away.
Evertime he gets the ball it's like an american football scrimmage. He dances around in the pocket and attempts a miracle ball, One way of another the play is ending.

While the backline went well in certain areas against SA, We need to get more out of it.Never mind a bit of lateral thinking but the practical reality is that your suggestions are dropping the two vice captains.
Also, not sure how much practice Papali’i has at trapping the ball at a scrum, running off the base, linking with the halfback. Also he’s very rarely used as a lineout option and at 8 we need an option (which Ardie provides).
-
He's also another loose forward slug. That would be the world's slowest ever trio

If he loses this weekend and the Bledisloe, NZRU will look very silly.
I’m confident they won’t lose it though - we should have won last week.
One issue that came up from the ARP was Hall talking about Razor’s motivational ‘Themes’ and how it helped over the course of a season. I get the feeling that some of those techniques may not be translating to the International arena as easily. That’s not to say that core principles aren’t important, but their value for keeping everyone engaged over a long semester (including rough squaddies) may be much less important in the ABs.
One other point from the ARP - they were blowing D’Allende hard - he’s a great defensive cog and they broke down how he was crucial to some of their success.

The Crusaders were shit but mostly because the Crusaders that are in the AB squad now were not available for most of the SR competition - Reece I think played most SR and he isn’t getting much AB game time at all

You can get $2.70 at Betfair if you want to cash in on that confidence
If we lose this week, those odds will go up and I might climb on as a hedge!

What I have said is that the selections and game plan appears to be muddled, with square pegs being put in round holes and a lack of balance across the squad but particularly in key areas such as the back row. I surmised why this might be the case - ie lots of time to make plans regarding selections and tactics which have then been disrupted by unexpected form and talent.
Anyway keep jumping at shadows chief.
