@Chris this is the most important phase of Blackadder's career, if he gets injured again soon I think he's done. Let's hope he stays injury free for atleast the test season so we can all see what his true potential really is.
yeah fair call on that.I see it the same way.

Razor continues to have a massive horn for Blackadder. That's all very well but it's time for him to show everyone why now
it's not just Razor. The last group did everything they could to get him involved as well. I wish someone would tell us what we are missing.
I hope he can prove us wrong and in a few years we look back on this time the way people look at Nonu's early years
Blackadder is 29 and should be in his prime right now. I struggle to see how he can get any better from here, especially when he is out of action as often as he is. He's going to be 32 at the next World Cup, id hate to know what his body is like by then.
As I posted in another thread a while back, he has been a Crusader since 2018. Since then, he has played on average 7 games a season for them. As we know, for the majority of players(forwards especially) its downhill from 30 years old... I really struggle to see the benefit of giving him a full shot on the 6 jersey moving forward because as history shows, this guy cant stay healthy and father time is going to do him no favours.
I can acknowledge that when he's is healthy and fit he is an absolute weapon but its very few and far between and feels like its been a couple years since he's played like the player he's still hyped up to be.
Expecting some people to disagree with me and thats fair enough, but thats my opinion on the whole Blackadder situation.
Not so sure on the 32 is too old for a blindside flanker Jerome Kaine was dominating at 6 until he was 34 when he played his last test.
6 seems to be a position you get better as you get older to a certain point of course. We are talking about Blackadder here, a guy whose body is already broken.
Well is it now though he has been good for the last while maybe he is over the injuries and will push forward.
Come on mate. 2 Crusaders games on the bounce and an All Blacks test against Fiji isn’t exactly ‘the last while’, it’s 3 games.
Like I said, when healthy the guy is a weapon but unfortunately we hardly get to see that. I do hope he can stay healthy, but my opinion about him being at his peak now won’t change.
We are talking about now still not injured is he, so let us see what happens.
If he goes down again then probably time to move on.I’m not sure what your point is so just going to stop after this message. He was injured at training during the England series so didn’t play and has played 1 game against Fiji. So to answer to your question though about his current health status, the answer is no, he’s played 1 game and he isn’t injured(yet).
Agree about the last sentence in your message.

@kpkanz lol no he isn't, he looked much better at 12 playing more direct. Proctor was the form centre in Super. ALB has had how many tests and couldn't manage to lock down a starting spot? I wouldn't say he's ahead of his peers at all but this is yet another opportunity to stake a claim.
ALB played at least as well as Proctor against Fiji, a game you seem to attach some weight to.
-
@reprobate you're making up shit. When did I attach weight to that game? I said it was a good start by Proctor in his first test before saying Ioane deserves another opportunity. Now they've brought a player back into centre who played well at 12 but hasn't exactly set the house on fire at 13 over the years.
If you take time to actually read what I said in the AB vs Fiji match thread without making blind statements I actually stated my preferred combination for this test coming up was to start ALB and Proctor together again. Jordie needs a rocket to get him going again, I feel like he's become a little complacent in the 12 jersey. Giving ALB the jersey might just keep him on notice.
But here we are, another week of inconsistent selections.
-
Oh yeah cool, let's let Blackadder "get his legs back" in test match rugby, where he's completely unproven.
Finau we'll just select in the squad so we can fuck up his confidence, 1.5 games was more than enough for him to show what he's got. Should have arrived at waaaay more rucks after the ball was cleared.
I'm no more confident in this coaching group than the last.

Weakest All Blacks starting XV for a major Test that I can remember for a long time, fortunately the bench is better.
The continued lack of ball carriers is baffling, as is TJP at 9 when there are better younger options.
Disappointed that Proctor and Clarke miss out.
I think it will be another close and nervy one. ABs by 1-3.
Mark Telea is the back three selector Leon McDonald's undroppable pet, what did you expect, the same happened at the Blues when AJ Lam was in better form than Telea but never got a look in until Telea got injured.

MT has played well for the ABs in the past so not that much of an outlier as to why he is picked.
I think he’s down on form and there were a couple of concerning mis-reads but hardly just a Blues legacy thing going on here.
I’m guessing we will see a Clarke / Jordan combo return soon.
