Same the other way D Mac timed out on a sitter
Inexcusable. Did no one in the coaching setup brief the players on the shot-clock?
Both Christie and DMac have cloth ears

Am I the only one who thought Christie was alright off the bench? Thought he controlled things and helped us close the game out well.
Just because he doesn't possess Aaron Smith's pass doesn't mean he didn't play well in other areas.
His box kicking was good and the chase (when there was one) put enormous pressure on England. Helped ensure we played in the right part of the field.

Far prefer us kicking it long.
Most of last 4 years we have been doing own half dinks, hospitals and hail marys -
Was pretty impressed with our high ball receptions.
England kicked a lot (like us) and between Perofeta, Jordie, DMac - we really diffused that tactic.

I reckon Savea is partially deaf, in interviews he is always struggling to hear.

@Victor-Meldrew if Dmac had nailed his we would have won by more
If, but, maybe
Why is this forum so negative
England are a GOOD TEAM -

It would be interesting to see how often we went backwards when the halfback waits for a second before making a choice. England just hammered us anytime we did the out the back move to a. Static forward. We went backwards a lot it seemed.
I think that was a massive factor in the game.... Two very similar halves in TJ and Christie.... Cortez will make a big difference imo

Izzy Dagg looks drunk

Had we played Tonga and won by 70 we would be none the wiser.
We tonked world No.1, Ireland in the 1st Test in 2022 and no one complained. Worked out well...

They should known it would have been on the scoreboard counting down.

@antipodean It's the way I saw it too. I thought he was key to us closing it out.
On the Use it penalty, that was just a communication error between him and Savea. Savea probably just didn't hear the ref say use it, and Christie looked like he was expecting Savea to peel off and pass to him. Christie was completely to blame as a lot are pointing out.

That was a tough test match with a very good English team.
I think they have the right players, and looked like they could break the game open in first half. But, got taught a good lesson in territory management and pressure. This was the teams first run and they will get better. Biggest issue is creating space in midfield. Reiko is not a crash centre.
Scott Barrett picked up from where he was last year - great work rate, low, body position, shifting players. Best player but thought Jordie, Patrick and Sevu also good.
Love Ref’s call on DM another taking penalty quickly enough. He was milking it.

On the positive I enjoyed the game and really looking forward to next week. I am confident the coaches will grow over the season and adapt as they go.
Proof will be the two match tour in SA. That's judgement right there
