Chiefs vs Hurricanes

@canefan that’s only a try. We did them in pretty comfortably in the end at Sky Stadium earlier in the year so I don’t think that scoreline is too unreasonable. If the Chiefs play well they could also very easily win so let’s just wait and see.

For sure. Just love the optimism

@canefan no point being pessimistic. I might well be wrong but I’m confident that the Canes team will be very hard to beat aslong as all our players are available. Should be a bloody good game.
No game against the Chiefs is easy. And the Chiefs at home even more so. But if we can put close to our best team out on the track we should feel confident of victory

@Duluth yeah but we also lost three key players just before kick-off against the Blues and nearly won so there is that to also take into account. Canes by 8 for me.
I love your optimism
You spelt "blind loyalty" wrong

Delany returns off the bench, Proctor starts but there is still no Lomax. Shields and Kirifi also rested in favour of Devan Flanders and TK Howden.
The two backlines for this game are top notch.

@Tim no offical word. I’ve seen Aumua on the training paddock from the Canes photos on social but haven’t seen Lomax. Hopefully not a serious injury and they are just being cautious. On the bright side Mafileo is back and is on the bench this week.
If you had to pick two players at the beginning of the season that the Canes probably couldn’t lose it would have been Roigard and Lomax. Hopefully we can get Lomax back for the playoffs, aswell as Aumua.

A few more details on the injuries:
Jordie Barrett will captain the Hurricanes against the Chiefs after regular skipper Brad Shields was ruled out with an injury suffered at training.
Coach Clark Laidlaw said Shields slipped during Monday’s session and strained a quadricep. He rated it a minor injury and hoped Shields could return for next weekend’s final regular season match against the Highlanders.
All Blacks prop Tyrel Lomax (ankle) and flanker DuPlessis Kirifi (knee) will also miss the Chiefs game with bone bruising. Both are hoped to be back for the Highlanders match.
Devan Flanders will wear Shields’ No 6 jersey in his 50th match for the Hurricanes, Peter Lakai will return to No 7 and Pasilio Tosi will start at tighthead prop.
