Blues vs Hurricanes

I think that's the first full game I've watched all year and it was a cracker. not much beween these sides - Canes 10 still the weakest link it seems.
Blues basics very strong. When they go one off the ruck it's hard physical stuff that wears people down. Clenaouts were excellent, ball presentation really solid from both sides.
fun game, went to the wire. Could be a decider in the wash, like the Reds taking it our over the Crusaders when they went to the title (fingers crossed).
Ref was generally solid. Akira yellow - it's the lawbook but man if you go lower and hit heads you're in as much trouble. Massive jeopardy cleaning rucks.
No mention of the late hit on Plummer? Looked very light on arms from where we were sitting. All in all, great contest, lots of fun.

@nzzp yeah I think that was the difference tonight, IWL dropped three kick-offs giving away soft possession to the Blues. Two lead to tries so that's the difference that the Canes will need to clean up before the playoffs. I'm sure they will do that anyway when Delany comes back into the fold.
Also can we stop wearing black, bring back the yellow. Fck KIA.

Poor technique from Akira. Blues their own worst enemy so far
agreed. Just get low
I beg to differ having watched the slo mo. TJP brings his head up and the back of it clips Akira in face. Correct analysis accidental head butt by Black. Most certainly no yellow.

@Bones Perenara didn't even want it to be yellow lol, you could hear him in the background saying as much.
But under the rules it is a yellow so it is what it is.
Sentence first, verdict later, said the Queen of Hearts.

Just as I talk up Numia, he gets monstered haha.
Angus managed to mine the seam between hooker and LH. Suspect hooker’s bind the issue. Once that happens LH becomes sidelined.

Before I click on that, can you hear the questions being asked? -

Yeah can't help but feel those pre game losses for the canes tipped it in favour of the blues. Sullivan went decent but Proctor's organisation was sorely missed and again while Tosi played well, Lomax is at the top of his game.
Agree Proctor and Lomax were big losses, but was real impressed how well both those late subs went. Tosi has came on so much this year, it's bloody good to see.

Agreed, that experience last night is only going to make us stronger in the playoffs. If we get Aumua back aswell that will only boost our chances even more. If we have to go back to Eden Park for a final I don’t think the Canes will be too overwhelmed by the challenge. Things could have been very different last night if we were slightly sharper, not taking anything away from the Blues of course because they were very good and took their chances when it mattered. I just hope that we aren’t caught by the Brumbies, as they’ve got a pretty easy run in. Getting max points against Moana and the Highlanders is a must, if we can also beat the Chiefs that will secure second place and may put us top again if the Blues slip up against one of the Highlanders, Crusaders or Chiefs.
