All Blacks 2024

One of the things I am excited about is the way Razor was able to take a fairly young group of players, along with some established stars to win his first super rugby title.
It was impressive that he was able to mould a squad and team and bring them together.
It’s not too dissimilar to the ABs this year, there will be more established stars but lots of new faces where he can essentially do the same thing as his first Crusader season.
That’s another reason where I was dissapointed the overseas players rule is the one impression he has made in his new job and before he has watched any domestic rugby as a selector/coach
I’m confident he will be a success though!

Have a look at the back row that Razor picked for the 2021 Super Rugby Aotearoa Final.
Grace was so good at 8 it's like there was two of him.
Can you imagine him AND Blackadder in the same loose trio ?
That’s the kind of team that could put 100 points on the Boks

Might be off-key for the Fern, but are we really happy with Jordie as our 12 for the next 4 years?
Don’t get me wrong, he was essential to our side last year. But let’s be realistic, the guy is pretty limited at that spot. He runs straight and fairly hard, but he doesn’t spot weak shoulders or target gaps, and he hasn’t put a single outside back into space in his career in black. He kicks ok, but surely that’s not the bar ?
So 2 questions for the Fern collective:
- Can we do better at 12 (if so, who?); and
- If so, what do we do with Jordie?
You're going to get flamed for this but you are 100% on point
And he froze on the big stage of the WC final tooThere's potential there though so I guess the hope is he continues to develop

The Way Razor has set up the selection of the squad is very good imo.
Having each coach responsible for the selection of certain positions.
The pointer to selection of the team is not all around Razor but where the other coaches will lean towards.five different selecting groups for one team. what could go wrong?

Over seen by Razor and Wayne smith Nothing imo.

Froze is a bit harsh IMO. He kept getting battered because PSdT knew he had to take away his ability to get over the gain line, such was the predictability of our backline.

This.
It was all pattern and occasionally running loop plays for Mo'unga.
There wasn't much of setting up anyone else in space until Dmac started taking on the line later in the game and giving people a bit more room.

I defy anyone to name another player in NZ who could have done a better job than JB at 12. Our failure to succeed was as much about the pattern we chose to play than anything. We departed from the game plan from the Ireland victory, for the second RWC in a row, and consequently came unstuck. IMHO he is a core backline piece, the question Razor will ask is who will play beside him

With Jason Holland selecting the MF,Billy Procter probably comes in to contention at 13.

Ioane has played well over the last year, but he doesn't distribute the ball to his outsides as a typical 13 should. Proctor had a very good SR season last year, he has a chance to pair up with JB again

Don’t forget Braydon Ennor either. @Bones should be along to talk him up any second

I'm interested to see what O'Halloran can do with Ioane for the Blues.
"Rieko still has a level to go to. I've looked at aspects of his game and **there are changes we can make that i'm pretty sure he'll be receptive to."**
What, actually passing the ball ?
-
No one could have, because there are no other lump 12s in NZ. But that wasn't thr point any one made
And I don't think we deviated from the plan, thr plan went to shit in the face of cards and insane saffer tackling.
And we still nearly won.
