There’s an issue around travel though. I know they used to have to subsidise the travel costs for visiting teams a while back. Not sure about more recently.
Edit: Plus of course none of the clubs pay direct tax because none of them make a profit.

The issue is that none of these bloody entitled clubs can cover their own fucking costs because no one goes to watch them. They all bitch and moan about the rfu but basically they’re spending money they can’t raise on the basis of a potential handout. Rugby in this country is fucked

@Machpants met them on their way up, first time I've had to fly for a club league game. I think it was the second, or 3rd year of some rich guy throwing money at the club. Stacked with kiwis, Aussies and a couple of Fijians.
Clubs that buy their way to the top via talent only don't tend to last long.

That's one example of rugby becoming NFL I can warm to

All SA teams tour up north. Struggling without their Boks.

Just watching the Bath vs Bristol game from last night and finally believe England may have a centre worthy of the name in Olly Lawrence. Been slightly skeptical for a while that he was just a poor man’s Manu, but last night he had strength, cut great angles, through some lovely passes. Looked a class apart. Just shows sometimes you have to let a player with potential get better and not write them off too early. Hope he bring this into the England set up

Champions Cup starting next weekend.

Leicester vs Stormers going to be interesting. Pollard vs Libbok, Wiese vs Roos.
Pool 4 is a pool of death.
