    @Victor-Meldrew did Curry hear it, or was it said directly at him? Different contexts

    @Victor-Meldrew

    It’s going to be funny if Tom Curry heard the word “kant” and assumed the Boks were talking about him.

    Curry was visibly shaken after the match. When asked if something was said to him by Mbonambi, he said: “Yeah.”

    Visibily shaken, lol. I'd be shaken to my core for being called a white fluffybunny. Oh the humanity.

    Personally as I'm a) white and b.) A fluffybunny

    I had no idea that you are white.

    @Victor-Meldrew

    Would Mnobambi be a natural Afrikaans speaker?

    @Catogrande given most of the Bok forwards are Afrikaners, he’s probably speaking Afrikaans a lot of the time to them so they understand 😬

    Would be useful when playing Scotland too.

    Imagine this is your captain. Shithousery really cost them in this match. Awful choice of captain.

    Perhaps there's an innocent explanation. Be good to have cleared up though, rather than fester.

    That translation makes no sense "oi you white side" yup totally normal thing to say.

    If they have it on a mic they can check it otherwise it's their words against eachother.

    @mooshld

    No, but you can imagine a context where "wit kant" could be used - e.g, having a pop after contesting a breakdown - "You're the white side/jou die wit kant"

    Oh I think they can, and they often do. Nothing, that is.

    @Victor-Meldrew said in RWC SF: England v Springboks:

    England flanker Tom Curry alleged to referee Ben O’Keeffe that South Africa hooker Bongi Mbonambi called him a “Fern poster” during the Springboks’ World Cup semi-final victory.

    The incident occurred just before the half-hour mark with England leading 9-3 as Curry approached O’Keeffe, the New Zealand official.

    On the referee’s microphone, Curry can be clearly heard asking, “Sir, Sir, if their hooker calls me a Fern Poster, what do I do?”

    O’Keeffe replies: “Nothing please.” He then adds “I will be on it, you fluffybunny” although it is not clear if this in reference to Curry’s complaint, but he takes no action against Mbonambi. There is no audible evidence of Mbonambi’s alleged abuse.

    After the final whistle, Mbonambi refused to shake Curry’s hand.

    Following the game the Sale Sharks openside was asked if Mbonambi said something he should not have, he replied, “yeah” but would not confirm the exact details. “It does not need to be talked about. But I bet there's a thousand word thread on the Fern about it.”

    FIFY.

    Red and green curry are both popular Thai dishes, but this spicy meal also comes in a third variation. Try this white curry recipe from PBS Food.

    Exclusive: it is believed that Wayne Barnes always looks 90 degrees away to the left of forward passes even if he accidentally points to them.

    Absolute dickhead behaviour from Willie Le Roux on the final whistle yesterday. Good thing BOK was there to restore order straight away or else things could have got very ugly quickly.
