RWC SF: England v Springboks

This result was the worst possible outcome. Obviously a win would have been the best, but this narrow loss will likely vindicate Borthwick idea of non-rugby and we'll be on this same fucking journey for another couple of years.

You still have time to see.

I know he gets a lot of stick, but credit to Owen for his post match speech. He must've been terribly disappointed but his comments do him credit.
Compare and contrast with DuPont.

Nepo
Gets better at scrums every game he's not selected (which is because he still gives away at least as many turnovers and penalties probably). Myth
Check out last 15 of Boks Mt Smart. Contrast last 15 of Newell at Twickenham.
Wait - is that what you're using to measure? A game where the Springboks were trounced, Vs a festival match where the ABs were just trying not to get injured?
I'd prefer stats. If Laulala is such a good scrummager, there'll be evidence to support it right? Rather than something showing he gets penalised just as much as any half decent prop.
They used the young props against Ireland. Suggests they will get the run against Boks and that at training they have scrummed well. Both offer a lot defensively.
Interesting who they choose as 2nd hooker. Wonder who scrums better Samisoni or Dane? Dane is better at lineout time I would think..
If we’ve learned nothing else from the last two Bok games it’s that Nché is a game changing match winner off the bench.
So would I rather for last 25 have grizzled chunk who’s rates by NZ LH as the next TH in NZ or the young pup, who’s got a massively higher ceiling but has very little experience against overseas LHs, who pull a few stunts which are largely unknown in NZ?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

@Victor-Meldrew guy dressed in white asks ref weird leading question without evidence, player who is supposed to have said it, asks as though he's been wronged.
Smells fishy.
Agree. Either it's true or it's baiting. Both possibilities need looking at
-
@Victor-Meldrew it is out now. It has to be investigated. If Curry made it up, he needs to be banned for sullying Mbonambi’s reputation.
World rugby can’t do nothing.
-
@antipodean he had a whinge about them getting cards though, which was a bit on the nose.

From what's been described here, Mbonambi acted pretty similar to how I think I would act if falsely accused of racism.
-
Curry was visibly shaken after the match. When asked if something was said to him by Mbonambi, he said: “Yeah.”
Visibily shaken, lol. I'd be shaken to my core for being called a white fluffybunny. Oh the humanity.
Personally as I'm a) white and b.) A fluffybunny

Who's ever heard of a white curry anyway
Anyone who's eaten a Chicken Tikka Masala or a Beef Madras.

@stodders said in RWC SF: England v Springboks:
@Bones then ban Curry. False accusations should not be acceptable.
I doubt that there will be sufficient evidence either way.
Unless witnesses come forward there will be no way of proving it was said.
However if witnesses do not come forward this does not prove it was not said.
I suspect nothing will happen. If it was said it is not great and I would expect a ban.

Kudos to SA. Really have the players and tactic for the big ones.
We should spend all week moaning about the water carriers.
I liked when BOK said next waterboys that come on ,I will penalise, been waiting for a ref to say that for a long time, only thing is should of said it earlier (haftime?)
I will add they shouldn't be on at all, just a couple of medics wgen there an injury.Yeah except they ignored him and kept doing it and he did nothing.
See taping the hookers thigh right on half way so they couldn't kick off. Total bullshit.

That was the type of game that the NH loves, especially the Poms. Heroic, lion-hearted, valiant, courageous etc. England defended well against an ordinary attack, contested the rucks very well, and challenged the line out. But George at crucial moments, their replacements lions props and one to many up and under a cost them the game. SA looked really weary.

Needs investigating and a ban if true. Ditto a false allegation. Some things shouldn't be left on the park
England flanker Tom Curry alleged to referee Ben O’Keeffe that South Africa hooker Bongi Mbonambi called him a “white c---” during the Springboks’ World Cup semi-final victory.
The incident occurred just before the half-hour mark with England leading 9-3 as Curry approached O’Keeffe, the New Zealand official.
On the referee’s microphone, Curry can be clearly heard asking, “Sir, Sir, if their hooker calls me a white c--- what do I do?”
If true, Mbonambi should apologise for the white part. That's uncalled for.
