    @voodoo Argentina to score 31?

    Damn you! 😀

But seriously, I have us WINNING by 30 tomorrow. All this talk of overconfidence in the team is nonsense. They’ll have prepared well, they know what’s ahead.

    I’m going with 42-10

    Well done.. not far off

    Ha!

I think that other drunken prediction I posted during pool play might be slowly coming true also 🙏

Maybe the piss poor exits and bombs without chasers are more powder dry? It is a huge concern going into the final.

What I do find astonishing is the transformation in this forward pack from the first game until now. They are now direct, physically uncompromising, efficient and disciplined. Have they just suddenly clicked or were they faking it for 4 years? I mean, you could barely trust them to go 3 phases in that first game and ball retention was dreadful. Now nobody gets a sniff. It's absolutely awesome, but again, where tf was that before?

Well in fairness Frizell, Cane and Lomax weren't playing - Vaai was at 6.

Was Cody Taylor being shit last year part of the plan too? They would have been 100% justified getting rid of him permanently and no one would have batted an eyelid…..but look how he went tonight !

    Are we supporting England tomorrow?

    Yes I am.

I feel that if England get up they will be spent for the final.

@Kirwan he had blood on his face near the end - I wondered if he took a knock as he was sharp af in the first 60. Aside from wobbly kicking.

Will be interesting who gets to ref the final. I’m guessing both England or Sth Africa won’t advocate for Gardner, especially his attempts to not let the game slow down. Loved his interaction at the end when he told the prop to get up as the scrum was being formed “you can’t run over here and take you boot off”. Unfortunately I think the ref will play a big part in final in dictating the speed of the game rather than calls. Will either be Gardner or French guy I would imagine

Gardner was tres fucking merde. Didn’t matter in the end, but not his best outing.

Exits were awful from the ABs and their fringe defence was not great.

Jordan & Frizzel were pretty fucking good

Their D was so bad they conceded heaps 0 tries.

Well what a difference a week makes. I would have been shocked if we had managed to maintain that intensity two weeks running. Let's hope we can get it back for the final.

In the end it didn't matter Argentina no where near semi final standard. But boy did we play below ourselves. Short exits, dumb kicks, average chase line, bombed tries and very average goal kicking. The only high points were set piece and our defence.

Thought the reffing was decidedly average as well especially around the rucks. That yellow card was firstly total stupidity from Scott then total over reaction from Gardner. If costing your team a scrum basically on their line not punishment enough?

I can already hear the northern hemisphere jurnos now looking up how to spell arrogant with our decision to play at 14 and you know what they are right. But let's own it for a change. We can talk about protecting Barrett from a red but if we really cared about preparing for the final we would have pulled Ritchie and not Beauden. So I say we were arrogant and so what if you don't like it put a team in front of us we don't rack up nearly 50 on for a world cup semi.

I wonder if Burgers comments are more calculated than just a whinge. Start sowing the seeds in the minds of Barnes or whoever refs the final. Get the press talking about how the All Blacks are a protected species

Also - thoughts on whether Sami did enough to warrant the bench spot next week? Tough on Coles who hasn’t played badly, but he def adds a point of difference

Yeah he is far too much of a ‘play hard, leave it on the pitch’ type guy than a whinger I would have thought

Had to miss 2nd half due to a meeting but saw the first half with an Irish fan who kept complaining how passive the AB defenders were to last week and if only they had been like that against Ireland - was that waiting passivity in the defensive line a deliberate tactic?

Nb he was still salty about last week.

Nope, his line out is still not accurate enough. And Coles is a point of difference too, just in a different way

There is nothing more tedious than a massive online ref whinge from supposed "neutrals"

Oh no, if only Angus had found ways to scrub off 4 AB tries, then they would only have won by
    Checks notes
    3 tries

I thought Gardner was good today. Super clear in his communication. Didn't blow little shit, but obvious shit. The dominant team got the rub, same as always.

Irish fans thinking thats a stitch up are completely devoid of self-reflection.

I don't expect perfection, I expect a guy to manage thr game and let the players sort it out

(If I had a whinge I thinknthe worst call of the game was binning a guy for an infraction 80+ metres from.his try line with no warning)

Everyone goes against the ABs when they start winning. Especially from the British Isles, that’s nothing new.

Which makes Burgers comments all the more disappointing. That’s not the bloke that used to smash and be smashed by JC back in the day then have a beer afterwards !

Because he sees the same thing that everyone else sees, apart from those wearing black tinted glasses. Another fuck up of a ref shafting the weaker team on the micro decisions over the entire game. Of course it makes no difference to the outcome of the game. AB's were always going to hammer a poor Argentina side. But it does end any competitiveness and the potential for a decent game to watch.

    You’re contradicting yourself right here.
