    @Canes4life I wouldn't be so sure - for some reason Foz loves Clarke

    And he also love a persistent liability in an out of form BB

    I'd say this b close to our quarter final 23
    Only De Groot for Williams and maybe Sami can squeeze in there over Coles barring injury of course

    The biggest test will be discipline and defence over the full 80.

    for the most part, not alot to disagree with in that, just need some boys to fire!

    On Samisoni, I personally feel that he is just one of those players that needs to be playing rugby, getting small minutes off the bench isn't conducive to getting the best out of him, but by the same token, what do you do if his form in those limited minutes isn't upto expectation.

    What I'd like to see is discipline and a consistent kicking (and chasing) effort, these are key to the ABs progressing, the rest will fall into place if they get those things right.

    Yeah I get the impression he gets better the more he plays ,

    I remember sione lauaki was like that , would be in a purple patch of form with the chiefs , get selected in the ab squad , but not get selected to play .

    When he finally got picked to play it was like all his Motor parts had seized up from lack of activity.

    I am blaming Foster and Ryan too. To get the best out of Taukei’aho, and use his strengths, he should be starting, but they won't do it.

    BB at 15 gives me the shits now..., I feel he gets in at 1st receiver way too much and predictively opts for a low percentage play, which 8/10 times gives possession and territory away and puts us under further pressure.....which is usually followed by a card..

    let Mounga drive the game,

    I'd also be giving Blackadder a run...fail to see the appeal of Paps....he really needs a blinder IMO.. that said we're still unbalanced in the loose as our #8 (while a great player in his own right) is really a 7
    Challenging possession regularly for a starter would be a good improvement for our loosies

    @Bovidae He was playing really well for the ABs and then wasn't selected. This ultra conservative selection policy favouring the incumbents has been a theme for a long time.

    @Bovidae yeah I said a few weeks ago I thought they had 'played' him out of form, such a shame as his (in form) style is certainly what we need v the likes of Ireland and SA.

    The mismanagement of ST is a black mark on teh coaching group. Leading up to the trot around against Namibia he has played the equivalent of two games since the Super Rugby final. Two fucking games

    Taylor is just so very ordinary. ST should be a point of difference in our pack, instead he's left to wither on the vine as an inferior player racks up minute after average minute.

    @mariner4life More proof we shouldn't have a fat Cantabrian masquerading as a forwards coach.

    I don't get the logic of these coaches. They talk about the need to increase our physicality and then they pick lightweights like Vaa'i, Havili and ALB in the 33.

    ST is a guy who we can't afford not to pick as he's one of those players who brings the go forward and physicality that this team desperately needs. Pick him ffs and play him back into form. Same with Leicester, he can act as another forward and can make good metres on the edges of the ruck. With a forward pack that doesn't have the punch needed, he is a must imo.

    Ryan's coaching has been very disappointing over the last few test matches, he needs to step up.

    @KiwiMurph solid 23, I’d prefer Blackadder over Papali’i’ though.

    Papali’i must be counting his lucky stars. He completely lacks any impact at this level.

    Good to see Christie has been given the boot, and good to see McKenzie on the bench.

    @george33 you were way off the money once again.

    I am like you Canes, and think Papali'i is a bit fortunate, I understand bringing Cane off bench with only partial training load, but I also would pick Blackadder ahead of him!
    I would add I not even sure I would have him at 7 for Blues if I was naming their team.

    Has anyone checked on @Tim ?

    ST hasn't been in the same form this year as last year but frankly the AB coaches should have more faith in him than they do - for example Codie Taylor seems to have a lot more leeway than other players.

    That's not just hookers though - the likes of Papalii and Beauden seem to nearly always be picked regardless of performance.

    i know coaches will always have their favs but i feel fozzie has been by far the most blatant....several cant be dropped and others dont get a decent shot, Savea proves (and no one would argue hes coasting) players can play more than a couple of games in a row, one or two games without scoring a hattrick...dropped....several average or even poor games....fingers crossed you'll come right in the next one without anything to suggest that will happen

    The ex-wallabies guys were going on about how the lack of competition for spots mad their super teams switch off

    Are we seeing the same thing from the ABs? If you are an established guy you can have a fucking stinker and know you'll be in the team next week. Got a red card for a dumb as fuck act? no problem bro come right back.

    Maybe some of it is our paper thin depth. For instance if Jordie plays shit this week we have literally nowhere to turn because the next two guys off the bench suck. Scott Barrett can't get dropped because our 4th lock sucks! The props have no one chasing them.

    @mariner4life i think so...i think, subconsciously, some players dont have the final drive to succeed because they know there are no ramifications if they dont

    we've talked before about players they were unlucky to behind a AB great, players that would walk into other international teams...it might be a case that those guys became greats because they knew in the back of their mind if they didn't the next guy would snap up the chance and never let it go

    and we might be seeing a lack of depth in some positions because players know in the back of their mind it doesnt matter of they push hard, they'll never truly get a decent crack in the black jersey
