RWC Week 2: All Blacks v Namibia

@Mattasaurus Of course they hit rucks, but often they are having to come off their line to do it because the frontrowers, who are supposed to be hitting lots of rucks from their centre of the field positions, aren't doing it. When we get more activity from our front rowers we get much better ball.
Fair call
I really think our forwards in general are just not good enough... certainly not the tight cohesive unit that we have had in years gone by - as you say - not enough forward momentum -
I just can't see them dominating Ireland, SA or France - we just don't seem to have the urgency / hunger to get in there - i think that's why Coles stood out when he came on ...Scooter aside - which AB forward in our current ABs squad is top 3 in the world in their position?

Who would have thought Roigard was going to be a star…..
Anyone who watched him in super rugby this year
I know, was being sarcastic

@gt12 Three awful games in a row.
Our props, overall, are a long way away from being a WC group.
EDG has the skill but lacks brains and consistency, Newell and Williams aren’t ready, Ofa and Laulala are defensive liabilities.
None of them can really carry for shit.
….and I look at a guy like Ofa and don’t know why. He looks like he should be able to run through brick walls.
I think they fucked him up by trying to make him the both side prop.
If they had focused solely on him being WC at TH, he'd be in his prime and we would have two excellent options with him and Lomax.
-
@Mattasaurus Taukei'aho was but they dropped him to the bench. Crazy to me. Lomax is very good too.
-
@Canes4life LF would certainly do justice on one wing
-
@Mattasaurus I've got a feeling we can still compete. We have to stay direct. Pick and goes are a must.
We are going to get mothered if we shovel it out for the sake of it. -

Lester to the wing, Jordan to fullback, DMac to the bench and Roigard to the bench.
Beauden has to go for me in the big games. Foster won’t have the balls though.
Can't do any worse, I can't see us winning with Foz's first pick team
-
@canefan yeah we need x-factor. It’s not a coincidence that the guys I’ve mentioned were the best players in Super aswell. We need to run teams off their feet instead of playing into the hands of other teams by kicking.

Obviously we have parochial biases on the forum but based on the last 4 years do people want to continue to make a case for the likes of Clarke? Christie? Beaudy, ALB, Havili, Vaii?
Leicester, Roigard, DMAC should be in every squad going forward and should Clarke ever pull his hammy id be getting Finau on the phone. Telea, Jordan , Leicester are nailed on in back 3 (presuming Beaudy is incumbent at 15).
I think most of us know what is what at this stage.
Im both positive and negative about the Allblacks concurrently.
I think the cattle are there, but not sure if they will be picked.
The World Cup is there to be won. We can do it. But we are our own worst enemies right now.
-
The newness? Well it wasn’t a red last night but it is today so I suppose that is fairly new! 😉
-
I would go SB/SW first half. SB/BR second. Roll the dice. It's got to the point where I'd go Roigard- DMac combo on at 50 minutes. No mucking about.

At least it would force opposition teams to start their scouting again

The majority of posters would agree with you there

If EDG is going to miss the playoffs, someone needs to trip up Clarke at the hotel breakfast bar, spraining his ankle and opening the door to a Joe Moody call-up
-
A starting backline of AS, RM, LF, JB, RI, WJ, BB
Means we could have 6-2 split on bench with CR and DM...although the way our pack is going...
-
I think we have some of the right cattle, however who out of the current squad would you say are playing their best rugby? Roigard? Anyone else? That to me is a sign of poor coaching.

No Telea? I'm going all To Dare is to Do,
Smith, LF, RM (I'm tempted by DMac for the way he plays), JB, RI, Telea, Jordan. We ain't winning squat with BB at the back, so let's go

Yeah LF on the bench. No point having a 6-2 bench as our forwards aren't good enough. We've lost both our top props, that's enough to finish off what tiny hope we had
