@nostrildamus maybe....i mean Dmac has over a hundred super games and 41 tests....you'd hope he wouldn't need too much baby sitting

@Canes4life dunno, I think BB showed on the weekend he is still capable of doing what needs to be done, but for whatever reason, isnt doing these consistently, but it also doesnt look like these are poor execution of an action, more a deliberate action, meaning he is either opting for this or it is part of the gameplan.

@voodoo nobody wants to see Beauden at 15 either.

Ha - but in all seriousness, I think he is absolutely bolted-on in Fozzie's mind, so it's about finding the pieces to fit around him. I'd say that 9, 10, 12, 13 and 15 are absolutely locked in. Just the wingers and bench to finalise, with WJ pretty much a certainty still I think with one of Clarke, LF and Telea at 11

You seriously reckon the first two have a chance of ousting Telea ?

They could rack up ten tries between them this weekend and still have Bob Hope and No hope of getting that 11 jersey for the big games.

he sure as shit doesn't need baby-sitting against Namibia.
Test rugby at 10 is a step up, so if you want to use him there you need to give him a go there and build confidence and combinations - not what I suspect is Foster's plan to drop him into the last 10 mins of a must win QF, asking him to save the day against either SA who just humped us, or Ireland who beat us in a home series.
The preparation needs to be as part of the A team, not with the B team. he's been given one go with the A team, against Argentina, and he looked nervous as to be honest - goalkicking went to shit - but it was still the best our backline unit has looked since Foster took over. It's actually one of the most exciting things about next year I reckon.

Well I'm going to go completely against the grain and say I think Beauden has been excellent at 15 this year, and his experience at the back is absolutely invaluable particularly when it comes to defensive organisation. They really like Jordie at the back for the same reasons, and rightfully so, and this has also held SS back from selection to date.

I also think Jordan is better suited to the wing at test level where he has a license to roam without compromising us on defense. His phenomenal success on the wing to date also backs that up.

I have our top back three as 11. Telea 14. Jordan 15. Beauden and I hope like hell we have them all fit and firing for the quarter.

how come everyone needs rest except BB and savea, is it literally because fozzie has no one else he trusts in those posititions?

Fozzie's reign: Death, taxes and a Barrett at 15/Savea at 8.

I dunno! I’d assume Telea has the inside line, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Fozzie still had a chubby for Clarke. I think they probably see LF as a bench guy but again who knows?

Telea has been slippery, but he does lack express pace. I don’t see him as a complete lock

Probably good points. I sometimes forget who the coach is.

    Havili, ALB, Clarke, Beaudy.....fucking hell

Is it me, or is that starting XV very similar to the one that ended the game against France?

Maybe they are looking for more cohesion/game-time from the A team replacements.

I 100% agree....Although I have a tenner on him for top tournament try scorer at 100/1.

Dane Coles is about to achieve something no All Black has for 102 years.

When the veteran hooker is injected off the bench in Saturday’s (NZ time) Rugby World Cup match against Namibia in Toulouse, he will, at 36 years and 279 days, become the second-oldest All Black of all-time.

Ma’a Nonu still looks in good enough nick to smash this record out of the fucken park

    As a back no less.

I’d take him over any 12 in the squad, even Jordie.
