All Blacks vs Springboks - Twickenham

@mariner4life it may not be blades as such, could be the type - sharpness etc. It’s interesting technical thing. Surprised their hasn’t been a rugby media piece on this but then again, why would you provide information and analysis when you can do nothing.

@mikedogz and the ref running his hands over the studs to check for sharp edges.
While Lomax's one is awful and seems nasty, it also would seem rather rare?
Yep I remember going down on my knees and having the boots checked I think.
We weren't allowed plastic studs in 90's early 00's in dunedin school/club rugby, had to at least have a metal tip. I was surprised when i got back into club rugby and checking studs wasn't a thing

@kiwiinmelb furry muff. I made comment before the test, would a loss to the ABs mean more psychologically than it would to the Springboks. I still believe it does. South Africa can get up for these one of games. This ABs side, I'm 70% sure they can't. Certainly not for 3 big ones.
Yeah not sure , last 4 games are 2-2 , good performance, bad performance seems to be the trend

Yeah moulded studs were banned in Aus while I was playing around that time. Had to have screw-ins. So I was surprised to see that they were the norm when my boys started playing in around 2014.

@kiwiinmelb which begs the question, what gives everyone so much faith we'll get passed the QF? Due another shit one vs France, good one vs Italy then out.

I think the focus has been on the RWC since we sewed up the Bledisloe and the RC (which was after the Melb test). So Dunedin becomes a bit of a ho hum match. This Boks test was a money spinner.
The boys seemed pretty relaxed about it all riding their bikes around postcode Adidas in Germany…
Much of what has been said on this thread has a bit of an old school thinking to it.
As much as it is important for the fans to see the ABs win, and they know they didn’t play how they wanted, but the eyes have been on the French test for a while now.
Bring it on.

Because quite simply were the flat track bullies of the international game, well pump everyone (bar France) by 50 points + in the pool games and then fall over ourselves as soon as we come up against a forward pack that hits us harder than what we hit them.

oh god, we're the quintessential classic French team, without the backline!

@nostrildamus Now that you put it like that - I have to agree 100%

I've got money saying they will. And I think they will outside of my draw.

Would you feel more dirty than if a Foster-coached team won the RWC and Foster won coach of the year?
-
Bit late to the chat and yeah pretty shit game to go to, mate who jumped over from LA for it wasn't too impressed at his first Twickers experience.
But yeah, this was about as close to a friendly as it gets, sucked watching the ABs sitting in their own 22, but bigger picture it doesn't really matter and we had fun!
