Would love to see refs walk 10 m at the drop of a hat for arguments.

Hell of a game, and a great win.
Crusaders are perennial favourites as always. But... those expecting the Crusaders to walk it in next week have read both semi finals differently to me. The Blues would have been beaten up by both teams out there tonight too. Likely because they'd have given up in contact much quicker.
Yeah, having almost the perfect game like the Crusaders did is not ideal imo. It's never easy reaching even close to that same level the following week. Will be a very tight final and could go either way.
Crusaders didn't have a perfect game, the Blues were awful. Next weekend we will see another away for home finals win for the saders. They are a cut above on attack that the chiefs are
Not in recent years against the Chiefs they aren't. Because their forward pack is held. Mo'unga with flat-foot ball isn't able to create very much, so you have to hope Jordan or Fainga'anuku pull something out of the hat.
They scraped home last year in the semi-final because their defence was terrific, not because of their attack. They lost this year in the round-robin, without looking too promising on attack.
If the Crusaders win, it won't be because they carve up like they did against the Blues.

One interesting stat is just how many penalties the Chiefs take compared to the opposition. Last night really was a test match type game from them. Shows kiwi teams can play tight when needed.
not many dropkicks in that table..

For all the talk in the game thread about go for the try, for me it was refreshing that the Chiefs at least played knock out football, with a points first mentality. Actually showed more maturity from D-Mac that I did not see as much of earlier.

@bayimports yeah I agree, seems often ingrained in us to go for the big play, but that kick from the 50m was the game changer IMO, chiefs seemed to lift after that it as well with a 6 point lead, and I think the psychological toll on the opposition, knowing that they need to score a converted try, in a match where tries were not happening is huge too.

@taniwharugby compare that to the brumbies first penalty. Easy 3, can bank it and build back down - but they put their cards on the table straight away, try for their specialty lineout drive, get soundly spanked and returned from whence they came.
Where to from there? If you can't even get close to nailing your go to in the first ten, it's gonna be a long 70 minutes that follow.

Retallick should be suspended for a week. Disgraceful thing to do.
