@canefan Razor won't take McMillan because he's a forwards orientated coach, Holland & MacDonald are backs specialists.

Razor has always had 2 back coaches and Ryan to coach the forwards.

McMillan is better building his resume at the Chiefs for now. He hasn't even won a Super title yet

By that criterion, never have Foster, Holland or MacDonald?

I wasn't making the comment as a negative. Just that he's early into his HC career at the Chiefs, it's not a bad thing to let him continue to develop himself and the team for a while

fair enough. I'd personally say the same thing about Leon.

If he wanted McMillan that would be fine. But he wants Leon so I guess thats fine. He has to be comfy with his team

@canefan True, it's as simple as he's had nothing to do with McMillan, coaches want to be surrounded by people they are familiar with, Razor has a strong relationship with Holland, MacDonald, Hansen and has worked with all of them previously.

And Ryan is already there, ready and waiting

When is he signed until? Surely time for a trip over seas for international role before pushing further

Schmidt to coach the Blues next year? Cory Brown, Jason O'Halloran or Mark Ozich to the Hurricanes please.

    Jason O'Halloran

I've long hoped he'd come back and coach in NZ again.

What he did for the Turbos was incredible. Suntory's current attack coach, Eddie Jones rates him highly.

    His coaching CV is impressive:

Wouldn’t mind Jason getting the gig and having the likes of Tamati as an assistant with the eye of him eventually taking over when Jason decides to move on.

I really really hope we don’t continue with Gibbes, he’s done nothing to deserve that position.

Isn't Chris Boyd around? Maybe Rennie prefers Cuba St to Queen St?

You'd be pretty pleased to see the back of Holland I'm guessing? His record against the top teams (Brumbies, Chiefs, Crusaders, Blues) across the last 3 seasons is terrible, with just 1 win (against the Blues) in round one last year. Considering how talented their squads have been recently it's very disappointing.

@kiwi_expat Are any those presently at the Blues head coach material? I would be ecstatic if Rennie coached the Blues.

O'Halloran would be great. Good Canes man and done the yards coaching.

If Rennie wanted to come back home that'd be great too, but I suspect maybe Japan then another international gig for him. Obviously be a few positions available post WC.

Very pleased Holland is going (team will just make up the numbers with him as head coach). But can the canes board appoint someone better. Get a top quality coach and the canes will compete with the best. There is some great talent in the side. But too many injuries year after year. And poor selections is holding the team back.

Gibbes is not the answer. Hes part of the current problem

@foobaNZ thumbs up to appointing a quality canes man. If they can attract one.
