The difference between the Canes and Chiefs is they have a good ten.
The Chiefs use of width and running with ball is best of any team. Hurricanes defended incredibly well.

After 8 games the highest ranked team the Canes have beaten is the 6th placed Reds
We’ve got all the parts apart from a quality 10. Unfortunately there is no winning this comp with an average 10. I don’t think it’s ever been done.

Some great moments by DMac in the last 20 mins
Is it 25-0 in the second half?
Worry for the canes is 25-0 is a fair reflection
-
That's a fucking harsh card. I thought that was a great turnover.

Chiefs dominated the ball in the 2nd half. Canes need new loose forwards.
Both Kirifi and Flanders (and lock Bird) were taken off. Bird was replaced by a loosie (Howden). Kirifi and Flanders by Iose and Lakai.

Well played Chiefs.
So disappointing from the Canes in-front of such a great crowd.
Just like his brother, Jordie’s been playing too much golf. He’s been absolutely hopeless in the last two games, same with Ardie.

Unreal second half from the Chiefs. So proud of this team.
By far the best team this year. If the Chiefs stay fit they are winning it this year.

@Canes4life Must say they were really disappointing, esp. Jordie. Pedestrian. Worked hard, but really bad decision-making. Like he started the bye early.
I know Godfrey still has lots to learn and is very green, but I'd like him to get a start at 10 in a few games.

I think the Canes are better off shifting him back to fullback until Love comes back tbh. We just don’t have a strong kicking game at the back and it’s killing us.
It showed in this game that we struggled to win the kicking duel and just couldn’t get into the right areas of the park.
Morgan is hopeless at 10, had a very weak boot and it just put us under so much pressure.

Canes need a top quality new head coach. Holland is not up to it. Find a great (as opposed to an OK) head coach and they might compete with the best teams
Chiefs look the real deal this year. They made the Canes look 2nd rate in the 2nd half. Losing Cameron was a big loss along with Proctor. Moorby looks OK but not good enough. Hopefully Love is back soon
But our lineout was well beaten after Bird was replaced (we need a taller lock in the replacements). And if Kirifi was replaced it should have been by Lakai. Its little thing like this that stuffs the team. I would have also had Higgins in the replacements so he could have come on at center and then Moorby can be taken off

That Jordie decision surprises me, as he's clearly on the ground.
End result is length of the field turn-around with a good try.
I thought so at first glance, but the ref was right, I think. If you can't go for the ball when a player is on the ground, then isolated players can just lie down and wait for help to arrive and not be touched. The Chiefs player didn't flop onto Jordie, he attacked the ball.
Jordie was trying to hold the ball off the ground in a situation where he was meant to be releasing it immediately. So the Chiefs player only dived on him because he wasn't following the laws himself.
