Yeah, there has been "go forward" since the assistants changed without a doubt.
It was as patchy as fuck though. The forwards performance in the 2nd half of the England EOYT game was probably worse than it was against Ireland and France the year before Ryan came in. If the new coaching set-up can get the consistency sorted out and improve composure under pressure that would be a solid start.
Consistency is the key word , I think our potential best competes with the best ,
But it’s the uncertainty of what type of performance we get at any given moment has been the Achilles heel of this era, and while there has been improvement, the eoyt showed us it’s still there .

Assuming Razor fancies him…..
O’Gara might have extended his contract but I’d be amazed if he didn’t have options/clauses to leave for international jobs. He was in a strong position at the time. For him, maybe Ireland is the ultimate gig and he’ll have his time at some point I’m sure.
However, unlike the Ireland job which will be there waiting for him (beyond Farrell’s time there’s Leo Cullen perhaps), being an assistant at the ABs is a once in a lifetime chance.
The ABs can send Brad Mooar over to La Rochelle as compensation. 😜

With Razor as coach I suppose we’re in for a few close shaves.
@Billy-Tell I think he might be a cut above the rest -

More like foster checking his phone this morning Paris time, apparently they didn't inform him before the announcement.
CEO Mark Robinson simply brushed it off by saying he’s in a “different time zone” and the NZR has tried to “reach out and have that chat if we can”.

What constitutes success for the new regime? Keep Bledisloe. Win all home series, ranking?
Number 1 in the world. Then thumping all the available opposition again and again and again until they're sick of us.

Wracking my brain trying to think of another professional sports coach who has the job for a full season knowing he's not wanted?
The German soccer team do this sort of thing regularly.

Typically incompetent. A final kick in the teeth for Fozz. He's in France, not Mars. I assume he has a mobile phone, they could have called him out of courtesy

Very strange fucking time
I actually don't know how I feel about it to be honest.
I want to believe everyone is a stone cold professional and just gets on with the job. But that's fantasy.
If Foster isn't their guy he shouldn't be there now. It's all ridiculous really.
That's my point. I'm not grizzling on behalf of Foster, I'm stating the obvious. All those posts claiming that players will want to perform are correct. Step away from the extremes/simplistic views for a moment and you'll note that there is a little seed put in their heads that the guy telling them that they can win if they do what he says doesn't really have the full support of the bosses who are more than happy to sit and grin alongside their new hire.
That little seed could mean that the team aren't fully on song.
Surely there were better ways to do this. The interview/selection process appears to have been a done deal (and don't we just hate those?) so why not keep it under wraps?
More Mark Robinson mess IMO.
I do agree that a change of coach is needed but also think that if you aren't going to change the incumbent then full support means full support not praising how you think someone else will do a better job. -

It must be a good joke I suppose.

Everyone is allowed one (1) dad joke. Keep it up and it will be geometric progression bans.

that simply staggers me, and is representative of the sort of poor management I have come to expect from NZR. That shit is basic courtesy; keeping him informed of when announcements will be made, and how they will advise him is management 101.
I'm no Foster fan, but that sucks balls. Never thought I'd miss Tew, but the incompetence from Board downwards has been painful to watch. It's like Blues v2.0

Robinson actually said Foster was being communicated with Foster about what was happening. So I guessing he would of known that NZR had meeting and that's when the panels nomination would be confirmed. I don't think Foster would of wanted to be contacted in middle of night to be told of a decision that doesn't affect him, he said on tv the other night, he wasn't really interested as his whole focus was on the team now! Personally I liked the job being done after WC , but can see hwy they felt they needed to sort it out now, with coaches having to decide where their futires lie etc.
