I saw him handing out fliers recently. I think he’s running ( or ran ) for council ? Still looks fighting fit !

I find it quite interesting that someone like Raymond Tuputupu has all of sudden vanished after performing strongly for the Hurricanes under 20s and NZ Under 20s this year, aswell as being rushed into the Hurricanes main side for one of their games earlier this season.
Does anyone know if he is injured, because he didn't appear for the Turbos either? I thought he would be next in line infront of both Leif Keil-Schwencke and Josh Southall for a Hurricanes dev spot, as they've only both played limited minutes.

No, idea what happened to Raymond Tuputupu since he played for the NZU20s in July. I expected him in the Turbos squad, too, ahead of LK-S. In the media release of the NZ U19 team naming it said that he was unavailable. All the others on that unavailable list were playing NPC or 7s. He wasn't.

He was reportedly spotted by Raiders scouts on a tour to Australia with the Junior Bati but was ultimately signed by the Eels.
In his time with RKS he was touted as one of the best finishers in recent years.
This is from the Roar site:Naiduki is the latest Fiji-born Parramatta winger. Naiduki was first scouted in 2018 by the Raiders when representing the Junior Bati as a centre, before a late three-year offer from the Eels secured his services.
Naiduki fits the prototype of the typical Fijian winger: athletic, quick, strong in contact and a good finisher.
Naiduki scored three tries in his six NSW Cup appearances last season and contributes handily when coming out of his own end, averaging 152 metres per game.
With Sivo injured to start the season, Naiduki looked to be likely to start on the wing in Round 1 until the recent signing of Bailey Simonsson.
He likely needs an injury to one of the starting wingers before a debut, and even then, he will still be competing with two-gamer Sean Russell for a spot.

The 20-year-old is built similarly to Sivo and has already drawn comparisons to his fellow Fijian star, and the rookie will also be looking to make an impact and earn a spot in the World Cup squad next year.
Before the club signed Bailey Simonsson recently, Naiduki was probably the front-runner to replace the injured Sivo at the start of next season, and while he might have to wait for his opportunity now, it appears it's not too far away.This is a highlight clip from his tries in the 2021 NSW Cup:
I don't know whether this contributed to him being released by the Eels after the 2nd year of his 3-year deal, but this doesn't look good:
Demetriou's plea to NRL after nasty tackle
Jason Demetriou has urged the NRL to impose harsher suspensions for cannonball tackles after Liam Knight suffered a season-ending ACL injury from what the South Sydney coach said was a "deliberate" act of foul play in the NSW Cup.

Just came across this: Manawatu will have two very good young hookers next year in Bason and Tuputupu.
