England were under the pump till the 71st minute, but the ABs should have nailed the coffin long before. There were costly errors when the NZ forwards were destroying their English counterparts : two crooked throws by Taylor and two missed kicks by RM after favorable penalties.

You didn't think the ST crooked throw after a penalty was a bit costly?

It's those little fuck-ups when we have momentum which has bitten us on the arse time and time again. I console myself that they are getting fewer and fewer.

    Not sure they are.

We kept fucking up when we had the chance to shut the game down.

@canefan nailed it on the head, which means he isn't an AB coach. We can't accept mediocrity, it just breeds more mediocrity.

@Bovidae I actually liked RM's running game and his game management was excellent. Yes, two missed touch finders, but overall a good game.

It seems people have already forgotten that we were playing well until the 70th minute.

No the game management was basically down to Smith running his forwards hard and straight, in combination with Jordie also going up the guts. It was also Jordie and BB who did all those cross kicks that did well. RM was basically a non entity save for when he was given the ball and ran around like a 10 year old

You know what, I don't give a shit about the World Cup. I care that our mana is being damaged here every other test by Foster and co. Test matches are important. It was all lovely and fluffy to hear Richie talk about the team culture, but what the hell happened to the AB coach that put the fear of god into you that losing is just not acceptable. If you play badly, kiss your position goodbye. You're not AB material. This woke world of accepting failure is destroying the All Blacks. We will be just another team in less than 2 years if this crap keeps up.

You've put your finger on what I've hated about the later Hansen and Foster eras. Accepting failure. A Grizz Wylie or Laurie Mains team would have been terrified coming off the paddock after blowing a lead like that knowing the utter bollocking that was coming their way. Tomorrow morning would be tackling practice until they passed out.

The composition of the bench was stupid. If you do not want to play Havili until the last minute (and he came in only because of TJP's injury), then why not have chosen a 6 : 2 split ? Barrett was replaced by Frizell, which left BBBR and SW on the field for 80 minutes. Their legs just could not follow the rythm during the last quarter. A lock (Vaai'i) should have been named on the bench.

Finishers didn't do their job. Going to need a better bench than that. Of those 7 bench players, I think only ALB should be there come RWC knockout time.

Only Laurie Mains - 23 wins from 34 tests at 67.65 percent - holds a worse record as All Blacks coach in the World Cup era

Not sure that approach would work with young players today. It was getting old back then.

@Bones And if Andrew Mehrtens had hit that drop kick, he'd have won the World Cup with a team that had been poisoned.

To fucking wright. That gave me a laugh. I hate fucking mediocrity. The reputation of the All Blacks has taken a total beating in the last few years. At least I now live in Canada where not 2 many people gives a fuck about rugby. I would be losing my voice if I was the AB coach after that pile of shit. But Foster will just come out with his usual bull. We will lose Razor at this rate and then who will coach after next years debacle which is all I can C at this rate.

If I'd have been selected for the All Blacks in 87 I'd be the youngest ever world cup winner.

IMHO our performances on last year's Northern tour, and most of the tests earlier in this season starting with Ireland were extremely damaging. Today we actually played very well, but couldn't seal the deal. No wonder Smith was grateful for the draw

Sorry Crusaders fans. We are going to have to manage Sam Whitelock's playing minutes better next year. Razor can't run him into the ground again.
