Apparently, the reasons that fucking foster stayed were:

    1. Razor's 'in principle' team lacked international experience, so NZR wanted Schmidt in on it. He met Razor (as ordered by NZR), and then said 'no' - not due to not wanting to work with Razor, but because he thought it was pretty shitty for him to be talking to a potential replacement whilst working for Foster. Loyalty said he would stay.
    2. Great result SA 2
    3. Senior players loving getting picked no matter what and publicly backing him

Overall what a cluster, who the fuck is in charge? Not NZR, Robinson, or the Board!

What complete fuck feast,Not hard to see who is in charge and its not the board.

What's wrong, this is NZ Hurld write up, so if you take it as accurate (there is a first time for those pricks) I see nothing exciting, basically what do they say that nobody knows (or more likely thought they knew) unless it was the fact that Schmidt didn't want to work with Razor (same as Tony Brown). Nothing very exciting in it.

"Robertson’s ‘in principle’ team was deemed to lack heavyweight international experience."

Scott Hansen was Japan's defence coach in 2018 and 2019 World Cup.

Jason Ryan was Fiji's forwards coach for the last 2 years.

Jason Holland was Munster's attack coach for 4 seasons (2008-2012).

Scott Robertson, Leon McDonald & Jason Ryan were NZ U20's assistant coaches under Boyd - in 2013 and 2014.

Razor then became head coach for 2015 and 2016 - while Jason Ryan and McDonald remained on the coaching staff.

So that's another 4 seasons of 'international experience' with NZ U20's at Junior World Championships.

They were never going to can Foster after the Ellis Park win. That saved his job.

So who are the senior players getting picked that are having all this influence? A fair few of them would be Cantabs - Taylor, Whitelock, S Barrett, Mo, plus Cane, Savea, BBBR, BB, Rieko maybe?

@Number-10 love for razors side to come out. It will one day. First he has world cups to win. Wether it’s with the all blacks or England.
Why is NZR putting so much weight on Schmidt’s opinion. What has he ever won. If anyone listened to razors interview on Senz the other morning , then they’ll agree he’s the man for the job.

The NH experience is obviously something they see as critical to the position.
Whether that is the right thing doesn't matter. As an organisation they have been burned before with very good NZ coaches without considerable insight into the NH game and are obviously reluctant to go down that path again without at least bringing someone like Joe into the mix.

The Crusaders coach said the decision rests in NZR's hands but he intends to be coaching on the international stage soon regardless.

That seems to be working well over the last few years.
Record loses, losing to teams we never have before.Losing the last WC.As Joseph said no one is scared of the AB's anymore they are just another average team there to beat.
We will not win the 2023 WC either.
The AB reputation has been fucked right up.
