I know it's not true, but I'd really like to think this is Taylor and Laulala on last chance saloon to show they're up to test rugby.
Reality will most likely show Taylor getting beaten around the park and losing a lineout or three, with Laulala getting beaten around the park and being penalised at a scrum or three.
DP to step up getting actual minutes in a familiar position he's been prepped for.
Jordan to have one blazing run but remain a spectator for the rest of the game.
Jordie to cause some issues for the wallaby defence and Clarke to cause even more issues.
I thought Newell was coming along nicely and doing as well as could be expected, joke that he gets dropped now.
If Taukieaho is a workload thing,, then why isn't the next best hooker starting?
Unfortunately, none of the selections are unexpected, a lot of stupid and before this year I would've thought very bizarre, but just commonplace now.

@KiwiMurph classic case of trying to manufacture something no matter how unbelievable or absurd to try and get an edge or fire up his players.

Apparently Ioane thought the boomerang advance was disrespectful to the haka. If this is true, he's a fucking tool. They don't have to stand there like dummies, and it's great that they responded, and will do so again this weekend
i get the feeling something has been lost in translation here. Rieko has been playing since 2016 - he's seen a fair few "responses" in his time. And Folau Fainga'a is a massive twat too, so who knows what the truth is?

Geez Dave is becoming a real Aussie whinger isn’t he?

Nah. He used to be an Upper Hutt/Manawatu/Chiefs/Glasgow one

I think the Ioanes are very talented but there’s also plenty of evidence that they’re both massive dickwads as well.
The Haka is very indulgent, teams can do whatever the fuck they want in response if you ask me.

"Soni has had an outstanding series. Codie has been working hard behind the scenes. We really believe he's in a good space now. It's a chance to inject Soni in the second part of a game to have a slightly different role so we're excited about that one-two punch for this particular game."
so was there personal issues or injuries affecting Taylor? Hasn't looked the same player for the ABs this season...

Just more on the disinformation campaign coming out of whinge palace: the judiciary didn't agree that Newell should've been cited. That was part of Swain's defence team making the claim.

@NTA why is my favourite Aussie Reece Hodge not playing?
So who is wearing the Wallaby 22 jersey?
I’ve got to stop scrolling on the fern while driving. My apologies.

Really? That makes it even more retarded to select him week in week out when he's clearly not up to it.

To hell with the doom and gloomers, I fucking love that backline, have wanted to see it for ages. Smith's lightning pass to set them away, Mo'unga's vision on attack who is finding his feet at this level, Jordie a big bopper at 12 who will hit hard on defense, bend the line and has the bonus of a massive boot, Rieko the most lethal player on the planet right now, the closest thing we've had to Cullen on the right wing, world POTY at the back with a license to roam and inject himself in his usual opportunistic way, and an absolute powerhouse on the left wing that is making a habit of knocking those who try to tackle him the fuck out.
If they click they will be fucking unstoppable.

@No-Quarter I remember thinking the same thing about this backline.

Papalii is not going to make it. He is consistently anonymous at this level. Pity.
Same with Fakatava, Vaai, Goodhue, Faingaanuku and Sotutu. Can them all.
Edit: something which would be interesting would be to see the progression of Cane at 24, looks like he debuted at 20 so I guess he was just into getting regular starts.
Not sure why Goodhue is on list. He had made it - proved very good, injury has intervened.
