@mariner4life I love that people now don’t enjoy all black wins with great performances!!

    Weeeaaakkkkk

A lot of people seem less interested in whether the ABs win or not than who the coach is, sadly.

Losing 6 from 8 will do that to you sadly. Particularly if it includes the first ever home losses to the Paddies and Argies. Let's also not forget that alot of people were pissed off that Foster got the job in the first place.

I've been thinking about this. For me it is not the losing. I supported the ABs through other rough patches, including losing five in a row, and never felt like this. I didn't stop supporting Waikato when they had hideous seasons and were dropped to Div 2.

It's the combination of some very, very poor rugby being played, with a coach that seems oblivious to it all -- indeed tells us constantly that they are very close to clicking. Only to dish up another disaster soon afterwards.

Previous AB coaches had bad runs, but had the good grace to be apologetic -- and mostly I could forgive them because they clearly were trying things to turn it around. They didn't just keep doing exactly the same thing that hadn't been working.

It's the slow motion car crash aspect that makes me no longer care.

Now now, some people wrote nasty things online so mental health or something. Forget the million bucks a year and willingly taking on the most high-pressure coaching gig in world rugby. I swear, John Hart must be playing the world's smallest farking violin.

If we end up winning rugby championship, retaining Bled and winning all three(4) on end of year northern hem tour (and Japan)

I guess that this season becomes a pass mark for Fozzie.

So long as we beat England at home, I will be happy

I still don’t consider it part of NH tour. It’s a flight stop for refreshments

Foster to deliver a 2-nil Bledisloe with a 60+ aggregate. Keep him until 2025!

I can definitely see that happening. Your team sux arse. Losing three in a row to Scotland is as shameful as it gets.

my maths isn't great but doesn't that require 58 points or more in the lead for the ABs? At Eden Park?

    Not to jinx it but....

This wraps up the Rugby Championship for mine.

NZ should win next week taking them to 18 or 19 points. They won't lose at Eden Park and Melbourne was there bad performance, they should be better next week.

Even if RSA beats Argentina twice. It won't be by big enough margins to make up the points margin deficit.

Don't think that decision will be made until after RWC2023.

If Foster reaches the Final (or even has a close SF exit), they'll see a strong case for retaining him - particularly as it could be argued he rescued the team from the nadir of 2021/22 and rose above the pressure and personal criticism from the media and public.

I didn't think that there is any serious talk of him going beyond the RWC?

The sail is set with the coaching team for the RWC now and they need to see this through for better or worse.

Last night was an improvement in that we got the W in an error ridden performance. Lots of work ons and lessons to absorb. Focus will obviously now be on sorting out next week and especially the bench with shudder Ennor.

    He caused the nadir.

Play JB at 12, RI will be 13. RTS on the bench. I'd like to see Reece in for Clarke, but I reckon CC stays. Jordan stays on his wing and BB plays at 15. Despite being past his prime I felt like Beaudy was at the heart of some of the good stuff we did

Bit irrelevant to the point I'm making (and I'd argue we were well on the slide long before he took over).

NZR like continuity and if he does OK at RWC2023 there's a chance they may stick with him or give it to one of his assistants rather than appoint a completely new coach or one with zero international experience.

We beat the 8th ranked team by 2 points and had 37 point put past us.

@Victor-Meldrew didn't Hansen say Foster had been doing more in the last years anyway?

Regardless he has been part of the coaching team that has seen that decline, seemingly doing little to plug holes, upskill deficiencies until this year when job was on the line...
