Reado says our ruck stats were poor, just really disjointed. That's because we don't try to rumble it up. Too much helter skelter wide stuff again
ABs had pure dominance early on. I think the players went off script because the Wallabies were being over-run. ABs need to stay disciplined and stick to the script. Losing Cane would have affected that, but the remaining leaders did not lead well.

By early on you mean first 5 to 10 minutes? We were dominated most of the rest

LOL Mo'unga "the composure from both teams was awesome". Nether team had anything that remotely resembled composure
-
Perhaps they’ll start Jacobsen in Bledisloe II
-
So many low percentage options.
Don't think I've seen us leave so many tries on the field through very poor options, the rugby instinct of some of these guys is astonishingly poor.

Which game were you watching?

I agree. Our feel for the game is so poor. Just no composure

Nah I’m sorry but that’s fucked. First and only time I’ve ever seen that call, and it’s in the 79th minute of a Bledisloe. Just absolute horse shit.
Take the win NZ. But it’s hardly a famous victory.
What was the ref supposed to do? Just wait for the hooter for the next minute?
Player has to take responsibility.
Blow time off. That’s what he does, and it’s what every ref has done in that situation.
Or just let Foley kick the ball three seconds later and not make the game about him.
But he made a call I’ve literally never seen before. On the back of an incredibly dubious penalty for sealing off.
He blew time off, warned him, put time on and told him to play. Then he impersonated a statue.
Ref was correct.

@nostrildamus Big time. Papali'i lacks the same physical edge that Cane has.
Cane's dirty work was sorely missed out there.
There was some good work by the forwards I thought to get us some clean ball and go forward, but Paps hasn’t yet developed that edge like Cane. Which was needed against these hard bodies of the Aussies.

That was heart attack stuff. Have to rewatch the game because I was so damn nervous I didn’t take it in.
For an AB team that is very ordinary we did enough to retain the Bledisloe. That’s all that mattered out of that game. So much better coming back to Eden Park knowing the Bled stays for another year.
Kudos to the Wallabies, they were tough and resilient.
-
Looking at the situation more broadly: we criticise refs for putting the whistle away in the last minute. Well, Raynal whipped it out and hit us across the forehead with it. So we can't have it both ways.
I had more problems with the calls he made before that TBH.
-
Fuck.
Just... fuck.
10 minutes of "we're going to blow them off the park", 92% possession, then... shit.
Then - 13-31 - I've got a massively pissed up "I'm Richie Mounga's cousin" next to me, apparently with $400 on the game vs his mates, staggering/falling all over me yelling "we've won, give me the money Uce" to his mates,- French ref - so many times obviously changing his mind in the middle of a decision... just - fucked up
Then... fuck... just fuck...
Yeah - that final couple of minutes...- I feel sorry for the Wallabies fans, and the team (other than Foley and Swain) - they could have, should have, did, deserve that win - but fucked up by 2 moments
- Of course - a game is just a whole set of "moments" - so the last becomes the most defining - and Foley... fucked up - miscalculated the determinedness of French referee-ing
- As somebody else put it - "welcome to French refs, mon ami"
- Correct call, and should be made more often, but... I can understand the fury of losing due to it
-- Hopefully it's made more often in the future... and while controversial, it becomes the standard-by-precedent
Oh, tit-watch: zero. But the barmaid from neighbouring bar insisted on giving me a hug on the way out, so... future tit-watch: ?

Yeah, I did the same thing.
Including the 10 seconds the clock was off, it was 50 seconds.
Which doesn't really feel too outrageous to me.
Whether he was wrong or right, I struggle to accept this reffing. I'm not convinced Raynal gave Foley enough notice that he had to kick it straight away with time on.

Yep. Taukei’aho was lucky he scored that 2nd half try because he had 2 players unmarked outside him. Sotutu, WTF was he thinking kicking with 2 players outside him? Just poor option taking. A sign of an out of form team.
But all that said, they did enough to retain the Bled. Well done boys. Phew.
