@Bones I agree, and Ardie blitzing him on that kick chase was pretty concerning, he should have been leading the charge with Ardie coming in for the turnover. He just doesn't seem as energetic since he was out with Covid - maybe still has some symptoms? Reece is definitely worth a go on the right wing.

Perhaps he has some off the field issues? Happy as Larry after Ellis Park!

I think things just aren't gelling for him and maybe he's a confidence player. He seems to be a bit unlucky with th bounce of the ball of late.

Thought his D was good at times yesterday.

@Victor-Meldrew he's a fullback, being played out of position, and he looks like he doesn't really know what to do. Same reason Jordie was a bit shit when he was played on the right wing.

Jordie was a donkey with his pace exposed.

Jordan looks more like he's not playing instinct, but is trying to think too much

Crap. How many superlatives were thrown his way when on the wing in previous games? How often did he find ways to appear at the right place at the right time and make something out of nothing while on the wing? Heaps.
The guy is in a little funk at the moment and can't find his way into the game. Blaming this on having played well at 15 in Super this year doesn't add up.
I'm not saying he is a bad player just that he seems to be struggling to get into things at the moment. We have seen weak kick chase (a bit better last game) some lethargic looking repositioning, some average high ball catching attempts. This is all a far cry from the guy who would burst into contention from acceleration or creativeness.
He needs to readjust and I think that is why he is being given chances to do so.
This isn't uncommon in players like him that are opportunists. Eventually the ball stops bouncing their way. He has the underlying skills though and maybe he would now do better at 15 but he could still be more effective at 14 than he currently is.

    @Crucial good call.

I'd take Reece and his workrate over Jordan at the moment - and I say that as a fan of what Jordan can bring to the table!

Re Jordan, my recollection was that he has never started a test at fullback. Strangely the AB site lists him as a fullback and also says he has started in the 15 jersey yet I'm stuffed if I can work out when.
    Any ideas?

Maybe off the bench sometime where they don’t list who he subbed?

    right, key points for me

    1. argentina didn;t seem to e implementing the rush defence, just seemed to be waiting for us, left it all on the field last week? our backline definitely had more time to do shit, that and their shit handling helped a lot

But, we still had to make the most of it

    1. cant stepped up hugely, no problem seeing him subbed when he has a game like that, savea and frizell both good games too and the whole deal looked more cohesive

    2. im sure i heard at about 60min in we'd only made two handling errors...thats what we use to see all the time

far from the finished article, i hope we keep building on this

cane needs to keep putting in performances like that, i would still be interested to see
    12 jordie 14 reece,15 jordan

Havili had a good game and i wouldn't drop him purely on the performance...but i still suspect that combo would be stronger than the sum of its parts

@booboo Not sure when he's expected to be available again, but I can't imagine him not being named in the squad if he's fit.

October was the reported return for ALB. At the moment he is the waterboy for Waikato but I don't know if he has resumed training yet.

@Daffy-Jaffy It’s refreshing listening to Chieka as opposed to listening to Foster.

I just checked this. Jordan has started all his games in black on the wing. Of the 4 times that he didn't start, he replaced Laumape, Clarke, Bridge and Fainga'anuku.

If he has played at fullback for the ABs, it's most likely the test where he replaced Laumape. Jordie was playing fullback that game, and maybe, just maybe (I can't remember) Jordie shifted to 12 when Laumape went off, with Jordan coming in at fullback? Just guessing here. That was his debut game and it lasted 5 minutes. He was replaced by McKenzie 5 minutes later due to injury.

Foster Hinted at some new players to be selected we may see some changes for the EOYT.

I don’t see any stand outs outside the squad yet
Some young guns coming through but vastly inexperienced.

Maybe a couple of projects will be selected.

Isn’t there a B team also going? Better to leave any”projects” in that team so they get more game time

There is a B team of course,Which where some new blood should be selected.

But Foster did mentioned the AB's when he was talking about New blood.

@nzzp The usual SANZAAR match stats and ESPN stats mention the minute a player has been subbed on or off. (Also World Rugby match sheets.) Look at the length of the game, calculated the number of minutes. Error margin of about 1 or 2 minutes. Easy to do for players with few caps, not so much for veterans.

The it's rugby website also has the playing minutes, but I've found them less reliable.

He hasn’t played at fullback not even as a sub, that I can remember. He’s played on both wings though.
