Foster, Robertson etc

@broughie I think he could have made a difference in the first 40, but that would have unraveled the starting backline. He wouldn't start at 10 so would that mean jordie to 12 and Perofeta at 15? Setting aside the case for Will to be the starting 15.
They select their way in to deadends and stick with players who aren't performing.
-
@Paekakboyz That’s true. I think he was really just cover though. If they wanted to play him he would have been on earlier. Bringing him on with a minute to play is crazy. You could see it happening if we were winning otherwise what was foster thinking. Prolly on his pre scripted list of this to do like under utilize ST.

I hope paul is right, and that means I can watch a victory under Razor at Eden Park!
Hamilton has been called many things, even rocked a slogan for a while proclaiming to be not as bad as people thought, but this week it will be cast in a new role as destiny-maker.
One more loss for the All Blacks this week and Hamilton has to be the end of the line for head coach Ian Foster and many in his wider management team.
One more loss and Hamilton, for the sake of a legacy 120 years in the making, has to be the terminus.

@Chester-Draws RA/Raelene tied Rennie up early - before NZR put out a call for applications. He was never a realistic option.
I also doubt Joseph was a realistic option. Pretty sure he'd be earning a mint coaching Japan.

When I qualified for all my Cricket coaching levels in NZ and Australia
the definition of a coach we had to adhere to was the following
The main purpose of coaching is to maximize performance by helping a player/players reach their peak potential. The main purpose of coaching involves developing leadership, creating self-discipline, building a self-belief system, creating motivation, and improving self-awareness.Having a clear mission statement as a coach to determine your path.
I see none of this in the AB's as the moment.

All this crap about giving Fosatert time, shit he spent years in the A.B Coaching set up. Those that know him say he is a nice guy, honestly he is a totally SHIT House Coach.
A.B social media putting their faith in the man as well as the NZRFU. Let's be honest and just say every team he has ever coached has been a failure. Now he is continuing that same reputation with the A.B's The last two records for Foster to break is the losing of the Bledisloe at Eden Park. This truly is depressing.

Foster has had 11 years in the AB environment how long does it take for NZR to realise how shit he is.

Do we have to wait that long,AB's will win in Wellington as the Pumas have played their big game.
And then all will be great again until we lose to Australia.
Then it all gets re hashed again. -

As far as I can tell Foster still decides on bench time changes. Someone please advise if this is not correct.
As far as I understand you are correct that is Fosters responsibility subs.
-
@nostrildamus he either makes the call or has final say if the team put a suggestion or strategy to him. Surely he hasn't devolved that responsibility to his assistants... surely!

Thanks I ask as there are now so many assistants.

The reason that happened is that NZR insisted on waiting until after RWC to start the process, cos all coaches should wait for their chance, and spurn other offers. It was either utterly incompetent and arrogant to assume coaches would put their future on hold on the chance of an ABs role, or it was fait accompli. If NZR hadn't been such a useless bunch of fluffybunnies and ran the selection leading upto the RWC, more would have put their name in, with the possibility of going elsewhere if they failed

Many of us could see in October 2019 that Foster as AB Head coach would be a disaster.

@nostrildamus oops I just re-read my post and I'm with you. I hope he makes the call but who knows at the moment. They frequently cite group think so it's hard to tell what Foster makes the calls on 🤷♂️

@sparky
That's nothing to crow about, 95% of anyone who knows anything about the situation would have said the same thing. The NZRU, Foster, AB players obviously feel bulletproof from criticism and reality. All that matters to them is keeping the gravy train going as long as possible. If it was about pride then they would have stepped down. They aren't even bothering to show any contrition. Sadly even if the ABs manage to recover from this, they have lost historical records that can never be recovered.

It is a good question, what would be the level of substandard performance that a board member or NZR staff member or coach feel they would need to step down over?
