I know Clarke is copping some crap for his missed tackle but it was technically a good tackle that he appeared to just slip out of. Maybe he should have gone higher or lower, but I think 9/10 on players that tackle sticks.
I'm more annoyed with Sam Whitelock's silly pass in the 22 than with that missed tackle.
if it was a technically good tackle why did he badly fall off and let the try in because it wasn't technically that good.
way to completely miss the point
The point is he missed the tackle badly.
Shit happens TBH. He had him covered, was even a good hit but just slipped off. I remember Tana doing something similar against Boks some years ago against the young Boks 13 Marius Joubert.
At the 10 sec mark.
For me Clarke hit a bit high at the hips then slipped off.
Needed to hit a bit lower below the hips and he would have taken both legs together and dropped him.Fair enough. Jordie showed how effective that can be with his tackle on Peter Steph.

After all the shit performances and gradual decline and 'worst ever' and 'sorry state of rugby' stuff, we've seen a really good game of footy and a great underdog win against the boks at altitude. Frizzel had a great game too.
But the most surprising thing about it all is still that a Sky interview contained a couple of proper rugby questions - you couldn't have got odds on that shit happening. -
If St doesn't score, I know they had a penalty advantage but would Am have been penalised for a no arms tackle?

Strictly speaking, I think so, and arguably a card!

If that was Shelford out there he would have had RM by the throat and said if you do that again I’m going to knock you out
The look would have said it all.

What a kick from Jordie. Let's finish them
Dagger through the heaving hearts of bomb squad.

Jaden Hendrikse posted this after the test -
"GG ABs. Well deserved and I hope all the travelling Kiwis had a great time in SA. I’m still working through the pain here, but I’m already looking forward to next year’s battle. Long live the Rugby Championship".

R2200 is like $5 so big fucking whoop. I'll put that on a first start maiden at Echuca

After a second viewing :
- DH was very good, one brain fart (which led to Am's try) and one missed tackle on De Allende aside.
- RM ran his backline perfectly but he made two big blunders (one pass to PSdT when the ABs were putting a lot of pressure on the Springboks, and one brain fart which led to Mapimpi's try). He did not stand flat like BB (but was it the latter's fault or a disastrous Foster's tactic ?) which negated the rush defense.
I think this combination is worth another chance though I'd like to see what RTS or JB could bring at 2nd five.
-
@cgrant I have a different take on the brain fart, he bailed out on the kick and tried to take it up and set it right into his forwards. I'd rather see that than a shovel or charged kick. It went wrong but I don't see it all as his fault. I expected him to have many more brain farts and being caught well behind his forwards.

He didn’t end up getting fended like he didn’t exist like what happened to Ennor though

Clarke should have just taken the ball into contact to allow Mo'unga to be free to kick. It was two errors resulting in a turnover and try.
