Anyway, next game the Springboks will be without Kolbe and Arendse.
The All Blacks are likely to be without BB.I hope their* injuries aren't too bad.
(*BB and Arendse)
Faf will have to stand down too.
-
@ACT-Crusader I put that down because we had our shape we went straight into, no matter what picture boks were showing. but when there defence shut that down we didn’t have another plan which created a disjointed attack.

@Bones yes give you that but he stopped a lot of their hooker's drive. I cant see him getting much of a running and linking game back (promising glimpse in 2021 never returned). And he doesn't seem to be winning tackles either. My point was really to srparate the captaincy issue from 7 issue (and i still think Ardie is more of a 7 than 8, our best 7).
He played a very average game. I didn't mention the captaincy there as he achieved zero there.
Fair enough just explaining why I posted that. They still aren't working well together as a trio imho

Wonder who they select at prop next week, Angus T and Lomax didn't convince..
-
@nostrildamus They don't have much choice. Hopefully Newell will get a run, but I suspect Ta'avao will start again.

@stodders And Foster will still be our coach next week....
He was given 2 matches Vs Boks to save his job. He now has one left. He'd best hope the Boks get a red card in first 5 mins next week.
I would be surprised if a second test win will save him-the same bad patterns / signs are still there.

To be fair, he thinks it's working and they're not far off. Why would he change things now?

He didn't say that ...did he?
even if he believes it you don't say that after a 16 point hiding.
Clutching straws?

My MOTM Kurt Lee Arendse. Maybe small but have a massive rugby heart.
Reckless on more than one occasion
ABs have been coached to be careful. If the other side isn't they automatically gain the advantage?

The injury to Faf should have given us an advantage but it didn't matter a damn in the end. I honestly think NZ would still lose against a 14 man Bok team right now.
And it certainly put paid to the criticisms of the 6-2 bench as well. One back reserve for 79 minutes and the Boks managed just fine.
ABs should absolutely be looking to load their bench considering the issues they've had up front.

they lost Faf after 43 seconds and outscored us with 14 men. we have got nothing.

4 years of poor planning coming home to roost.

In fairness Faf hasn’t been all that flash this year

I actually feel bad for players, nobody wants to feel the way they do. Some good stuff there but we are a side who clearly doesn’t have a DNA. SA, Ireland, France even Aussie have a clear plan and looked connected, us we look like we are searching and play with little confidence on attack which puts our basic skills (catch pass and breakdown) under pressure. We need our plan to suit the players we have, I think there are elements where we are copying others (yes the ABs are not the leaders of innovation!) not gonna bag players but we need guys who are smart when we don’t have the ball, again hate comparisons but Conrad Smith was awesome without the ball. I feel with our plan we can be one-trick- ponies out wide.. my issue is I have no confidence that this will change, it’s been a long time since we have looked cohesive
I seen Rieko catch a pass around 60 minutes and I thought Jesus , I forgot he was playing.
The 23 is something you would select when you are 14. Picking all the fast lads .
This team lacks Ben from accounts, Crotty's, Conrads, Franks brothers. Nuts and bolts. Hang your hat on them players.
This team isn't even doing the simple stuff well. Never mind the razzle dazzle.
Rieko has been really poor in last three matches. Some shocking bad choices in both defense and attack against Irish, and no sense of structured attack here.
Good for Blues, so what's missing: a physical 12 to vary the threat/create some room?
-
Just got up ,hardly surprised by this result , confidence is an amazing thing and i believe most of that confidence had been sucked out of this All Black team after the Irish series.
Probably , not a bad thing hopefully the catalyst for change in and around the coach and the skipper .
Dont get me wrong still want see the ABs do well, but this team is in freefall. -
Awesome Silverlake timing

All Blacks terrible again and absolutely deserved to lose. But the Boks tactics at the high ball all game lead to the Barrett incident at the end. They have clearly been coached to jump for the high ball with the intent to knock the opposition out of the way and the officials let them away with it. And the end result was the red card incident.
