@stodders I'm a bit surprised to see Reece gone. Thought he played well. Happy to see Clarke back of course. I guess they wanted a little more brawn.

So I guess the Ireland debacle was all Taylor and Reece's fault aye?

Blame the Crusaders players, so cliche 😉

I mean Taylor played his part stinking up the joint but very harsh on Reece, I'd like to see him on the bench as he could make a real impact late in the game

So I guess fuck Hoskins Sotutu in particular aye??

Only covers one position. We felt we needed cover for more than one position and Shannon played lock for Ta$man in 2017.

    RW Staff  /  Aug 7, 2020  /  Hotshots

Hotshot: Blues No 8 Hoskins Sotutu - Rugby World

Hotshot: Blues No 8 Hoskins Sotutu - Rugby World

Hotshot: Blues No 8 Hoskins Sotutu. This young back-rower is being hotly tipped for All Blacks honours – find out more about him

    What positions have you played?

I started as a winger, then moved to lock at 17, then six, wing, second-five. My last year at school I played No 8. My first year out of school I played first-five for Marist and now I’m settled as No 8.

I hear Shannon played halfback when he was 7 and also played Goalkeeper in intermediate.

Would like to see a Jordan, Reece, Clarke back 3 given a shot in the future.

Well if Ardie gets injured we will see Akira at number 8, where he played a while ago. Eek.

I thought it had been ages.. looked it up and it wasn’t that long ago

He had a couple of starts at 8 for the Blues last year. The year before that he played more at 8 than 6

It's the dullest bench I've seen in a long time.

Good to see they've given Akira a shot at redemption vs the Boks. Shat himself in both games last year and seemed to put a downer on the rest of his season after a magic start vs OZ.

It is ok, Shannon is back. He'll be a dynamo off the bench. I suppose.
I'll guess we'll never see Tom Robinson in the ABs at this rate. Is there a ginger cap?

I read somewhere despite all his times at 6 for the blues over his career he played more 8.

I'll not mention the back row combination apart from saying they have to fire in this game or the experiment needs to be scrapped.

With Havili at 12 and Barrett at 15, I expect to see a territorial kicking game. Clarke and Jordan are good kick chasers too, so expect to see the Bok back 3 put under pressure.

    Back row under huge pressure.

So is the backline. AS/BB’s kicking games haven’t been good enough. Neither has the chase. Havili has looked like a fullback playing 2nd against good defensive teams, RI needs to work on his passing game, JB needs to keep his error rate down.

    Hard to be confident.

A step in the right direction.

Can't see us winning but hopefully a better effort than the rubbish served up at the Cake Tin

There might be a few edits on the prediction page 😉

The Boks have the bomb squad. Not sure what moniker you'd give the AB replacement front row.

Sorry for Reece. He's dangerous. But like the bigger Clarke. Shame they could get him on the bench, but QT covers midfield I suppose.

Hang on. Would have preferred Fakatava over Ginge.
