What we learned tonight is that we need to start Isaia-Leawere, Coles and Franks in the playoff games. I liked what Delany and Roigard did off the bench aswell.

Tahs will rue not making their dominance of the first half pay greater dividends.

Good work by Canes in the end. They showed a lot of courage and composure to win that against a pretty good Tahs team.

Another thing I like about this young side is that they don’t give up when shit gets tough. They stay in the fight and that’s a good sign for the future.

@gt12 might actually havea bit of fun for once, though.

That meta bullshit about having to play you isn't gunna make fluffybunnies rock up.

Well I learnt something tonight, as much as I can't stand the Hurricanes I really can't stand the Waratahs, I was fully cheering for Wellington tonight.

Except the Tahs just beat the Saders. Them losing tonight only means the competition is exactly that. That weren’t blown out, it was a good, engaging game.

@gt12 one close game in four. And we all know where this shit is headed.

@canefan you could say that but you could also say it’s been a mature second half from the Canes. Once we got the correct front row on we dominated.

What’s this w@nk fest with Julian Savea in Aus lol, he’s a shadow of his former self.

I'll give it to Holland that the early front row subs was crucial

The worst coach in the world would have subbed them.
    It was blindingly obvious.

Probably shouldn't have started them in the first place....

@Canes4life once an AB always an AB for Oz rugby commentators (and former players). They will have long memories and will all too well recall him dominating in Bledisloe matches and scoring tries. His record against Oz is pretty good 😉

The red n black jersey is in the post. Get on board the Saders train mate, it’s a rocky ride in parts but once we round the mountain, it can be a beautiful view. We are heading straight for Blues country where we need to stop this so called ‘Blue Future’.

    Pretty damning for Lomax.

    Nice one canes!

@KiwiMurph ..I personally don’t think it’s a simple as that ,lomax suddenly doesn’t become a bad scrummager ..he’s been their mainstay on the right hand side for the last couple of seasons

I swear it’s Blackwell. Every time he comes back in we go backwards.

Yep but funnily enough he was still there when Franks came on. I couldn't work out what problem is, Lomax seemed to just not be there for some reason, and he's usually not bad at all.

Well I have woken up surprised, went to bed at half time so surprised to see the Canes came out on top. Credit to the team and the Tahs clearly needed a lot more points in the first half. Just goes to show how important a solid scrum is and something I am sure the Canes will work on before the finals.

Couldn't believe how bad our front row was in the first half, we tended to let their front row get under ours, giving them a ton of scrum penalties allowing the Waratahs to completely dominate us in possession/territory... when Franks & Coles came on they added that much needed steel to the front row which gave us a good platform & a lot more possession to get back into the match, also our composure played a big part too in winning it.

I think it was purely Angus Bell just giving Lomax the work over. He’s arguably the best up and coming loose-head in world rugby, but you’d expect Lomax to do better. It’s strange though because Lomax has been solid for most of the year but I guess he just couldn’t handle him on the night.

What we do from here is the big question because you don’t want Lomax to lose all his confidence. I reckon the best thing to do is chuck him back in against the Rebels next week and let him make up for it.

Yeah, was very surprised Lomax was so poor at scrum time, maybe it was an one-off shocker ? ...good point you don't want him losing his confidence, so might be a good idea that him & Franks start in the front row in the next one.
