Iām basically not judging the guy on this one act. Thereās no known propensity for violence.
Something went wrong in his head and I have no idea what.The only guess I have is that not only was he thinking about Richard Williams at the time and falling into character when he realised his wife was insulted while he was sitting with her and the kids. A āwhat would Richard Williams do?ā moment perhaps?

you're not wrong in a greater sense....but the oscars have always been news for at least the week around the event its self...nominations, wins, who was hard done by, the fashion etc...so hard a surprise that a genuine A list celebrity walking on stage and hitting another (arguably?) is news at least immediately after

@crucial there is a looong back story of their 'entanglements' they've shared in some podcasts. Lots of dirty laundry shared and it never seemed like Will was that keen on any of it - and he's been coping shit for being a simp/cuck/insert your favoured meme term here.

Glad this thread is still up and going strong.
I listened to a bit of talkback this avo and a former pro wrestler rang up with his take. Basically he thought it was a bit of a gimmickā¦ā¦only no one told Chris Rock. He mentioned how Smith would have screen fighting experience and explained how you can make a slap sound loud but not really hurt the person much if at all. That to me explains how Rock looked a bit surprised but 100% unhurt ie he didnāt āsellā the moveā¦( stagger, fall over, clutch his face etc )
