@kiwiwomble I'm the same. this is so far beyond character for him it's mental. Saw a meme about Smith cussing more in 60 seconds than he did in his 10 year rap career.
So, does he get arrested? charged? Move with his auntie and uncle in Bel-Air?If you look at Chris Rocks face under a microscope you’ll see some fresh prints

From the Fresh Prince?

this whole thing is pretty weird, it was a very tame joke that set him off, agreed Rock took it very well...but was also very flustered afterwards....and smith has apologies so i dont think it was staged...just very strange
Sorry Will, a movie about the Williams family won’t be particularly high on my list of must see flicks.
Jesus Christ, what happened to the days of the Deer Hunter, Jaws, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan etc ? Aside from Dune this list looks fucken shithouse especially Jane Campions effort. We had gay cowboys with Brokeback Mountain.
Yeah back in the day these films weren't necessarily blockbusters, but they were mainstream and people had actually seen them and could cheer on their favourites. Now they're generally films that nobody has seen or wants to see. That ain't good.
I didn’t even love Dune quite as much as I hoped but it’s sooooooo far away the best of the bunch it’s not funny.
This isn’t a recent thing though. Monsters Ball and Three billboards or whatever it was called were astonishingly boring ‘dramas’ yet worthy of Oscar thrashwanks
No it's been going on for a while. It's a shame. Used to love the Oscars.
How good was this ?
Classic stuff from one of the last old school Hollywood tough guys

@paekakboyz saw a headline where Rock has said he wont lay charges
Probably did a stunt slap. Just for the wife's benefit. Someone owes someone a beer or two
Yeah I had another look, I think this is accurate.

Yeah definitely, Smith looks like he's trying to stifle a laugh when he's walking away and the whole slapping action from Smith's weird "I'll teach you a lesson boy" stance to Rock swinging his head back like he's been slapped in a wrestling ring.

The people going up to comfort Smith (wtf he was the one who took a swing) didn't seem to think it was an act. Bizarre

Agreed the slap itself looked staged…but his shouting when back in his seat and rock reaction didn’t…

That's the thing with actors and actresses. You never know when it's all just an act....

Only in Hollywood could somebody be physically assaulted, and the person who committed the offence be the one that required all the sympathy / comforting.
Regardless of what you think about the joke, either violence is never acceptable or it is. Clearly, Hollywood thinks it is.
-
@majorrage brief viewings I've seen show Smith apologising to everyone but Rock (and unashamedly begging to keep his career). Nobody has even batted an eyelid at that, so did he apologise to Rock and it just wasn't in the clips?

You obviously think Chris rock is a better actor than I do!…and I don’t believe will smith would agree to yell fuck in the middle of the Oscar’s as a “skit”
-
@kiwiwomble hang on a moment! I'm not the believer here ...
-
@bones yeah, so you’re saying they were acting…I think the slap looked fake…but the shit after didnt…because I don’t think Chris rock is that good an actor and he looked really flustered…stumbled over the award he was giving…which is why the whole thing is just weird
