Moana Pasifika vs Hurricanes

MP have their heads up now, they are going to be tough to put away.
Hopefully Roigard comes on and shows a calmer head, Perenara has been a disaster.

How gutsy is this MP team ..?..playing only there 3rd ever game , no ball , no field position , heavly penalised , 2 yellow cards …Canes 80% possession plus ..7 all incredible …this is shit you cant coach ..as someone said imagine if they had a scrum ..?
Or how poor are the canes

They should have had more yellow cards tbh.

@nepia yeah that's why it was mitigated down.
Yet some on this thread are calling for a red card.

I don't think I've seen this many big hits in a Super game and it's just the 1st half.
Do you remember some of the Blues v Canes games back in the day (when the Canes weren't complete villains ). They'd score a crazy amount of points but there'd be huge hits going too.

So should have the Canes.

Definitely rusty after two weeks off that’s for sure. They started so well aswell which is frustrating.

@canes4life canes should just play smarter and they'd be well ahead.
As to the head clash card, the rules around that are poor, players adapting to these poor rules that have been about for ages is poor.

The following quote from Chris Gibbes in the below article suggests a few players are making their return this weekend: "The guys are fit and healthy and we have some guys coming back from long-term injuries too, so, we're in a pretty good space," he said.
From their Instagram: TJ Perenara, Isaia Walker-Leawere, Tei Walden, Scott Scrafton and Cam Roigard all look to be training fairly freely so we might see some OR all of them suit up for MP on Friday.
Bad news is that it looked like Devan Flanders was doing a light workout with the injured duo of Owen Franks and Tyler Laubscher, hopefully nothing too serious.

That's how it's being applied in the NH. Pointing this out doesn't mean people agree with the direction the governing body has taken.
That people think such a tackle in 2022 shouldn't merit a card at all is fucking baffling.

Fair enough.

Probably because the law application guidelines change about every other year.

I love this conversation from the coms about how if the guy showed duty of care, he would have missed the tackle. Isn’t that exactly the point? Wouldn’t the game be better if defenders needed to have better technique or get a break?
