Jeez K. Bosh hits the ball hard.
The commentators did tell us he was a big hitter.
Funny AND knowledgeable, amazing combination
They’re about as funny as your memes and just as repetitive.

@crucial They must be an acquired taste. Frankly, the voices in my head are funnier...
On a slightly different note - I haven't played cricket in a while. What pitches do we have other than Bay Oval and ND variants these days?
Hagley Oval is excellent.
Does anyone play there other than St. Albans?

Actually now you mention it I haven’t had much feedback from you on that page, is your upvote button broken or do I need to tag you in them ?

They're fucking relentless - I'll give them that.
Certainly didn't go to the Richie Benaud school of commentary.
I'm using my mute button discretely to pretend Richie is teaching them the value of silences.

They’re better on the radio to be fair. Some of these gags are a bit repetitive

Black Caps and Canterbury from time to time.

@anonymous Sounded like it.
I think that might have been a bit of a job done dismissal.

Enjoyable watch especially the Bond double up over. But the commentators were excruciatingly bad and so repetitive.
Even as a fan of their radio work I can’t disagree to be honest.
I know the cricket guys are a long time retired in many cases but to lose to a bunch of rugby players is a bit embarrassing surely. Bond and Mills looked like they were trying pretty hard as well.

A good night out at Bay Oval.
From memory of previous years, and from reading the thread, one of the best parts of being at the ground was not hearing the ACC take a once half-decent joke and repeat it 20 plus times. Brodie and the ground announcer also tried their best to do that, but at least there was respite when the ball was in play.
The teams felt selected to give a good chance of bringing it back to 2-2, McCullum and Devcich being T20 specialists at any time. Great to see Bond off the long run one more time. And st. Parore b. Vettori!

@chris-b Will Jordan averaging 56 in Black Clash matches. Imagine if he could play rugby too…
How many times did he drop the bat?
-
@chris-b said in Black Clash:
@mn5 It's the Has-beens vs the Might-have-beens.
Many of the rugby guys played under-age rep cricket - several made NZ rep teams.
Absolutely but Read and Jordan looked ridiculously capable with the bat. As if being bloody good rugby players wasn’t/isn’t enough !!??
-
@mn5 Read made an NZ schools team at cricket. Jordan played school cricket for Canterbury.
Jordie just missed the NZ U19 team. Ross and Boshier both NZ reps at cricket. Spice played for ND.
Tonuú played for Samoa.
McCullum and Devcich as ring-ins.
Not sure about the others, but I bet they were handy.
