This shouldn't surprise anyone. To the casual observer, the name All Whites would have to raise an eyebrow, minimum. Even to most of the football world to whom our roundball identity hangs by a thread, the name would have to conjure the occasional "what the fuck?"
Those in the rugby world will realise the connection. Whether they're aware of how the All Blacks moniker came about, or not, they'll be familiar with the brand and the uniform and will realise that 'All Whites' is simply piggy-backing off New Zealands' most recognisable sporting brand. They'll know there is no malice or underlying intent in the name, and that it (both) came about during an age when these things were analysed far less and people didn't have the heightened level of sensitivity and desperation to be outraged that they have today.
But today is today, and maybe it's appropriate to review a team name that really only piggy-backs on a far more renowned one, as Rapido says has an increasingly tenuous link to a formerly unique playing strip and might just be so borderline offensive it has to go.
I think it's a good way for New Zealand to differentiate itself on the international stage; explain that the name reflects only white people are allowed to play soccer and black people are forced to play rugby.

Probably a stance that is better for one's blood pressure. Maybe we would use the opportunity to branch out and use some other NZ icon? Ferns and Kiwis have been done quite a bit

Ultimately, if the only reason for changing a name (which is almost 40 years old and has until now ruffled zero feathers) is because a minuscule minority might be offended, then that's not a very good reason for changing it. Would you not agree with that?

The All Whites name being potentially offensive is obviously as ridiculous as Native Americn's campaigning for Liverpool to change their nickname and colours. E.g. is completely fake and entirely made up by the party doing the 'investigation/research'. E.g. by themselves.
All a smokescreen of management mumbo jumbo and cliches so that they can wear a bit more back.
How about the Katipos? Small but deadly 🕷. Pukekos are farken pests, so it's a no from me

I don't agree with this decision / proposal, but I'm certainly not up in arms enough about it to be that bothered - thats the world we live in, and a lot of leaders / politicians (side note - not the same thing), think these sort of optics change things. Reality is they don't. In fact, they just create further divide, as witnessed in the above exchange.
There's a pretty obvious place that this may well lead on to though with our most widely known sports team. Am fairly sure Titania McGrath with find an article somewhere in the near future talking about cultural appropriation there.
