So firstly NZ have no way to get into Perth for next week?
Then we decide, without telling Aus, to pull out of a game we couldnt get to?
Fuckterclust
Oh I think Robinson has dont a shit job since taking over form Tew.

@majorrage He probably has a point but he has a history of whinging to the media. Did the same before the Welly test last year too. Like someone else said earlier, am not a fan of this being played out publicly.
Rennie is in Perth, with the rugby team he manages getting ready to play NZ in a week. The team finds out the match is off via social media, and not internally.
Regardless of your views on Rennie (and I appreciate he's a bit marmite on TSF), that's really shit and poor form of NZ rugby if it's true.
Generally agree with it shouldn't be played out publicly, but he is completely right to come down hard here.

I was watching this on the TV news (see video). RA says the game could go ahead if the ABs flew to Perth on Sat. I'm not sure how if WA has suspended quarantine free travel from NZ. Unless the date of the test would be moved again? NZR don't want to send the ABs overseas without a clear plan for the other games. I'm happy with that decision. Plenty of blame all round.

How do we know what was said or not said? Maybe Robinson told RA and they got the shits and decided to whinge in public? If NZR didn't communicate that is on them. But the other parties have form

Sources have confirmed to RugbyPass that Sanzaar are weighing up shifting the Rugby Championship to Europe for the remainder of the competition, following the Springboks’ match with Argentina this weekend. Four double-headers are tentatively being planned for Paris, London, Dublin and Cardiff.
Kaching$
EXACTLY!

No sympathy for Rugby Australia. They showed their hand when they came out and declared the rest of the Rugby Championship had to be played in Perth when there were dozens of other options still on the table.
This all shows an urgent need for NZR to distance itself from Rugby Australia a bit more. We have shackled ourselves to a corpse.

Is it really a big deal as to how he found out about the announcement? He's the coach of the team and he always knew that the likelihood of the game taking place was slim at best. Whether he found out via social media or through the proper channels ultimately makes very little difference to him as a coach.
I can understand RA being annoyed if the NZR didn't communicate this with them first before releasing the press release, as they are in daily negotiations with the NZR, but Rennie is just being a piston wristed gibbon about it imo.

Would be nice to have that 100th test in South Africa but with no crowds anywhere seem to be OK. Just appreciating Springboks playing again is good enough, even on the moon.
We have a lot of UK players, playing there will make it easier to add players to the squad for injuries.

@sparky The more we play you the worse Rugby does in Australia.
Been banging the exact same horse from the other side for ages. Playing each other achieves nothing but a slow death.
Not to mention you blokes are absolute bellends to deal with. 'Oh we have had our two (two?) Eden Park tests. That'll do us. We are too good to quarantine - you know, the exact thing we just made you do'.
And then you fucking announce it via social media. Couldn't make it up. Hopefully RA pull their finger out and commit to a domestic comp following this last fuck you from NZRU.

Um, what?
The Bledisloe Cup will be played in New Zealand after the Government granted the Australian team an economic exemption to enter this country. The exemption allows quarantine-free travel for the Wallabies, based on the argument that a rugby test match generates up to $20 million in spending.

@nzzp fucking bullshit. Our performances over the last 25 years have gotten worse year on year. Direct correlation.
respectfully, fella, that's not the question. How would you have gone without Super - that's the key question.
There's a reason SANZAAAAAR were consistently in the top 4 in the world - and it wasn't the Rugby Championship.

You're not quite as good as you were in 1999-2000, but after that you are consistently in the top 2-8 in a cycle:
1999: Won it
2003: 2nd (Beaten finalist)
2007: Quarter finalist
2011: 3rd (lost to eventual champions in the semis)
2015: 2nd (Beaten finalist)
2019: Quarter finalistWith that record, you are probably the third best team in the World over the last 25 years. Your moaning isn't supported by the facts. Your team hasn't been as good as the ABs during that time, but we've had a golden era, as you did through the 1990s, and even then you went out in the quarters in 1995.
In fact, you're welcome, as playing us is probably what keeps you so strong.

Removed a little bit of the robustness of this post (play the ball, not the man), but I do agree with it entirely.

This is a slight thread hijack but who would you play instead? I am always interested to hear the answer because it’s not like the Wallabies would do any better against a full strength Boks or England (@Bones) and given the series against France C there’s no guarantee they’d do any better against the other NH sides. Which leaves basically Japan and the Island teams and, with all due respect, they’re not going to attract the crowds or the challenge to improve the situation.
