All Blacks vs Wallabies Bledisloe 2 Eden Park 14th Aug

The irony that he doesn't see how bad the media are in covering AB sport and his role in making things worse.
-
@gt12 I'd say the quality of Aus has as much to do with the lack of interest as the late move to play back to back tests at EP.
If it had been SA playing on Saturday I reckon it sells out, especially since we havent played them in NZ since 2019.

Watched the game again. Best ABs performance since the Quarter Final against Ireland in 2019. Not getting too carried away as Australia are a second-rung international side but nice to see some significant improvement from the ABs at last. Better physicality, good option taking, communication and execution.
Still areas for improvement: the scrum, defence, kick offs.
The ABs were really shit about taking the high balls there - bodes well against the boks…

And don't always play them at Eden Park like the Wallabies seen to get 🤔
Someone did they numbers and due to the agreements in place, wobs play at Eden Park nearly three times as often as any other visiting nation

Visiting fans I guess - a short flight from Sydney, and frequent enough compared to WLG or CHC. Or, maybe the Wobs don't like cold weather
-
It's not a common thing for us in NZ and Aus to have a game like that in the same city two weeks in a row. Maybe it was a case of "the carnival has been to town and I've already been to the carnival". Given the expense, I wouldn't be going two weeks in a row. Although that's because I live in Brisbane and the ABs are usually shit when they play here.

he's not exactly saying much, but i agree with his overall premise
although "investigates" is a really strange word to use for a short article that interviews exactly no one.

I think the pricing was all wrong, and the marketing was all wrong. If I were a benevolent dictator, it would have been cheaper tickets (normally 75% of price), but then have deeper discounts for large groups. The more the merrier.
Family packs for west and east stand
Packs for groups of 4+ or 10+ in the main standsYa just gotta fill the place! With 10 days notice, you can market it as a 'special'. Maybe you hit the walkup crowd from the first week, but at 25% standard discount I doubt it.

One article pointed out that they couldn’t reduce the ticket prices as those who paid for Bled 1 would complain. What a pile of shit, I paid full dollar for the first test, and would’ve gone for a second if they really reduced the prices. Covid forced the move be flexible, maeke two for one deals and kids deals and stuff. Just lack of flexibility.
Oh and fucking drop Steinlager as a sponsor FFS

hell - reward those who come for Round 2 with a deeper discount. Buy your seat again priority period for 50% off. FFS, no imagination.

that was a ridiculous argument when it was first aired, and looked even worse when the vast swathes of empty seats were revealed at kick-off.

So, yellow or orange? Wallabies uniform was confused as their rugby. Neither is gold!
When I say some clothes or a haircut looks stupid my wife says ‘ it’s fashion ‘ like that makes it all ok ,
Maybe it’s fashion
It is fashionable to be unfashionable

And if tickets still aren’t selling let emergency personnel by $10 tickets

No those bogey man Boks again. The same team that had their own restart issues against the Lions…

I'm pointing to the fact the back 3 really need to be the Cory Jane style bomb squad, cos they'll get peppered
-
@machpants Ben Smith was pretty good at catching them too.
God, I sound like an old fart already. -
@nzzp it's pretty fucked up when you can jump on a forum and see these fantastic ideas like the ones promoted by you guys and yet no one at NZR can seemingly come up with anything close between them.
And not just on ticket prices for a test either.
