Czech defender blatantly pushes Maguire to the ground in the box

I have a bridge to sell you....

Even the English commentators were laughing at Maguire there.

Yeah they rarely give that stuff. Always amusing that the ref goes and warns the players before corners are taken only to ignore all the push and shove

It was a light hand on the back, there was no push and shove!

Take the piss out of the Grealish love in as much as you want …. But England are so much better tonight because of him.

.... and now he's off. Czech defender blatantly pushes Maguire to the ground in the box and..... nothing. From the ref or VAR. They need to win to stay at Wembley, they really need a second goal to ease the nerves.

Big wraps on Jadon Sancho. But what does he have to do to get a game?

It must be frustrating being an England - you've got some fantastic young attacking talent for the first time in years, you watch them perform on the biggest stages in the world's toughest league for their clubs and being coached to back themselves by some of the world's best managers like Pep, Tuchel and Klopp and then you watch them playing an overly-conservative and unimaginative brand of football while playing for England (if they're lucky to get off the bench) while being coached by a guy who would be lucky to get a gig coaching in the Championship. It's a bit like being an All Black supporter at the moment...

All crap jokes aside, you are right though. England are a team playing far below the sum of their parts.

That was a crazy 2 hours - England had all 4 countries as their opponents at some point and all teams bar France were going out at some point. Some really good ties in the last 16 to look forward to.

Squeaky bum time for Löw. They’ll probably end up winning the thing now.

the Tournament was and still is screaming out for some jeopardy, so the knock outs will finally add something.

According to the bookies pre-tournament, Turkey are the most fancied team to be knocked out ($50) and Wales the biggest outsiders to qualify ($125). So no real shocks in terms of qualifiers.

Favourites to reach the quarter-finals are

    France v Spain
    Italy v Belgium
    Netherlands v Denmark
    England v Sweden

although Portugal, Germany, Ukraine are not huge outsiders for their ties.

I am astounded that England are favoured to progress at Germany's expense. While not the greatest German team of all time, it is still incredibly powerful as they showed against Portugal.

Some great matchups in the next round.

Let's hope that the refs don't have a big impact on the games like a certain Spanish ref this morning. 3 penalties, of which two were dubious, and then misses an obvious penalty late in the game.

Wales May rue that sustained early pressure with no return.

Great goal from Denmark but against the run of play.

    Since then all Denmark

Shit yellow card decision against Moore
