Nareki is small but when I watch him play at Super level, size is not his problem. I know test rugby is a different kettle of fish. My concerns around Nareki relate to his defence and his option taking. I don't think we should be picking him on the left wing yet.

Like Nareki. Punches above his weight and looks a fantastic finisher. No problem with him in the AB squad. But I wouldn't play him and Reece in the same 15. Too similar.

Reiko for me - easy. But Foster was the idiot who dropped him after a match where the forwards got tonked and brought in Bridge, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

As an aside I think Clarkes second year as an AB was not that good.

Um, are you a witch with your abilities to see into the future?

Yep. IMO Ioane is still easily the best 11 we have. They won’t pick him there though.

He’s a very good winger and should stay there. He’s nowhere near a test standard 13.

I am not sold on big Leicester. He hasn't got the pace at wing for the next level.

I think they'll pick Faianga'anuku; eventhough not as fast as some others, he's got plenty of power and leg drive. If they want a power winger to replace Clarke, Fainga'anuku is the most likely candidate. Reece can play on the left and right wing. Jordan is more likely to play on the wing, too, with Jordie and Dmac competing for the 15 jersey, and BB possibly wearing that number, too.

Rieko not more than a back-up wing for me.

Faianga'anuku should easily be in the squad.

@broughie 🤣 nice. Who are the Otago boys? I didn't see anyone saying Nareki will be the AB left wing, but good effort.

Roane probably edges it over Faingaanuku for me.

It'd be idiotic to say Nareki definitely won't get selected for the ABs though eh. Which doesn't automatically mean he's the starting left wing.

Sorry for the Otago slight. Highlanders would have been more accurate. Just gave my opinion about him as a AB left wing. You mentioned something about laughing when he is included in the ABs so I inferred that you believe he would be there. I never said he would not be selected. I just gave my opinion that I would not select him.

@taniwharugby Yes you are right. Got the Bledisloe and Steinlager series messed up. Clarke was good in the first but a little absent in the second, possibly because they knew what he was capable of and maybe because Foster can’t coach.

@bones Man, this is a tough crowd. Just remember I am over here in Cali, devoid on the daily rugby chit chat, usually only frequenting the fern on game day and until just recently was able to secure a subscription to watch games. Hope you are not holding it against me that when I said that your tipping was underwhelming when you posts are pretty insightful and not mundane.

He'll probably have a tantrum,(he's just an okay center) but I think he can do what is the best for the team and fill in there until Caleb Clarke is available again.

I'd rate him ahead of Clarke

I'll out myself as someone who had the temerity to suggest Nareki had some potential.

Although I never suggested, or even thought, he's make this year's All Blacks team.

But definitely one for the future IMO.

Cheslin Kobe, best winger in the world, is smaller

    In 2017.

Certainly a better idea than Jordie Barrett on the wing though.

I think Reiko Ioane should be one of the first names down but on the left wing. Probably one of the best wingers in the world but still developing as a center.

Agree with Rieko, I think his switch to centre was premature. He still has the pace to dominate on the wing, would love to see him there for at least a couple more years before moving in.

The kids have moved on from Fortnite now. Institute a device ban on school nights and Rieko will be fine
