@nepia I watched the 1st few of IASIP last night, some good shit along with stupid.

Is similar humour to mythic quest which is unsurprising.

From what I remember it was extremely low budget in that first season.

Yeah I tried watching a bit of this years ago with a rebound who loved it, but just didn't click for me.

    Yeah - It's Always Sunny....

    • started off super low-budget
    • I can certainly see why some people wouldn't like it - but I generally really enjoyed it
    • When they first got into the groove of just EVERYBODY being narcissistic selfish fluffybunnies, was some good times
    • The more absurdist stuff was hit-and-miss
    • Danny DeVito joining it was unexpected... apparently he watched a few, really enjoyed it, asked to do a cameo... and then suddenly became a permanent fixture? Or something like that? You gotta be pretty happy though, creating a shitty little comedy show, and suddenly getting DeVito as a full cast member.

Definitely feeling warm and fuzzy inside now, they really love eachother don't they. Just lovely.
Matthew Perry made me feel quite sad as he was easily my favourite character but I never realised how desperate he was for a laugh, he said he would get nervous and sweat with worry incase the audience wouldn't laugh.
Ross was definitely the leader of the pack and so naturally funny. Loved the whole Ross and Rachel crush thing too.
What a feel good show that was!

I watched the first 10 minutes, but baulked when I saw it was for 2 hours. Went and watched netflix while missus continued watching it.

I did love it back in the 90s. Didn't see it through to its last seasons though. But, I also loved Seinfeld at the time. Also loved "Brit Comedy Tuesday" that one of the channels did in the 90s with men Behaving Badly as the highlight.

Definitely feel it is of my generation, I guess.

When I moved to London for my OE in 1999. Friends had just moved channels from free to air to a Sky channel, Pubs (with sky) would do a Friends night on Tuesdays or whenever it was. Can you image that. pubs doing a sitcom. That, is the sign of a cultural phenomenon.

He’s the greatest artist in music history. I just adore him and I’ll fight anyone who dares suggest otherwise.

She needs to be added to my list of celebrity hall passes now I think about it.

@rapido I haven't seen Men Behaving Badly for a while now but is up there as a favourite along with the similar Peep Show.

I was more of a Cheers fan and would probably watch a Cheers Reunion rather than a Friends Reunion

@rancid-schnitzel i watched a couple of eps back then, it was exactly what you'd think

1/6 the chemistry and a format that was nearly a decade old

Friends is a generation thing. All it ever meant to me was an incredibly annoying theme tune that had the saving grace of alerting you to change the channel.

You are the first person to specifically write on the thread to say you didn't like the show that I believe!

@RL did you believe that Aniston & Schwimmer were really into each other? All seemed a bit corny that part to me ....
