@yeetyaah he certainly comes across as someone with a big chip on his shoulder!

Was it Nisbo who said something like that during the game on Sunday - something like "he's playing like he's got a chip on his shoulder" - but then twisted himself inside-out trying to make it clear that he meant it "in this game, in the best possible way, of course"

Nisbo(? Smith?) was clearly actually meaning it in a good way in the context of the game - but then realising that it is so clear and obvious that Laumape(respect-his-name!) really does have a chip on his shoulder in general - he went to desperate lengths to distance himself from potentially meaning/referencing that.

Nisbo and Smithy both love talking about chips

'Let those people keep disrespecting my name, because I'm going to turn up every week'

Hurricanes centre Ngani Laumape fired off at his critics following his game-breaking performance against the Blues in Super Rugby Aotearoa.

@bones thanks much. Rings a bell now. A man as angry as him should have been a halfback.

@mikey07 he's about two thirds legs so he'd probably get charged every time.

The radio commentators said during the Hurricanes v Crusaders game that he was yapping all game - including at the ref, so he'd fit the halfback role in that respect very well haha.

He's the definition of all talk and no trousers. Goes missing in tough games and does one or two highlight reel plays per season, tops.

@kirwan That seems to be enough to get him in the ABs squad.

Lack of competition I suspect, not a huge number of great 12s in the country. It's why I keep beating the David Havilli at 12 drum. That and I like 12s that can kick.

For a guy who apparently has never done it before, Havili was pretty bloody clutch on the weekend. I’ll admit that I was sitting there thinking ‘that’s a good piece to have in an AB squad’

Am I reading too much into Chris Eves' comment on this instagram post, or did he just let slip that Vince Aso has signed with a Japanese club? Wouldn't surprise me at all btw, considering he's not getting any game time (that might be a chicken-and-egg thing).

christianoevez: that looks small compared to @whalaholo12 ring he just bought? you're going to have to get a bigger one when you get to Japan now? 💴💴💴 🤑🤑 what you reckon @nykalat ? 🤔 p.s congrats my guys 😘❤❤❤

Apologies if it’s already been discussed, I haven’t been here much of late ,

Was watching the roosters v storm game and brandy Alexandra mentioned the possibility of allblack tj perenara going to the roosters to play dummy half ,

I almost choked on my cup of tea , what do we reckon , real possibility or garbage ?

@kiwiinmelb if he can unleash Tedesco closer to the ruck it could be an inspired recruitment

Is Ethan Roots any good, he has signed a short term deal with the Ospreys. I was just wondering if he was worth signing longer term. Thanks in advance.

@davies Hi, welcome to the Silver Fern!

Tbh, I had totally missed the news of his signing with Ospreys.

I find it hard to answer your question. He has been in the Crusaders environment for a year, but he only played in one game (off the bench) and wasn't re-signed. If I remember it correctly, he was only in the squad because of injuries (and players leaving). No doubt, he'll have learned from that experience, but he's little experience at Super Rugby level.

Maybe there's someone on the Fern who remembers his games for North Harbour. He has played about 20 games for the province (2 seasons).
