I'm interested to see how Whetukamokamo Douglas goes at 6, he's had limited opportunities this season.
Plus Sanders returning from injury on the bench. He looked like he was about to break through after the North/South game but hasn't had much time since then.
A questions for the Cantabs - what do you think of Grace at 8? I rate him but he looks more suited to 6?
I agree that he's more suited to 6. He plays very tight, basically like a 3rd lock. And he lacks the top-end acceleration off the back of the scrum that an elite 8 needs. If the Crusaders had more depth in their backrow I don't think he'd be playing 8 right now. He looks like a blindside flanker covering at no.8, IMO.

I'm really hoping for some sort of bounce back from the Crusaders after last week's debacle, and a vastly improved performance. Not only were they tentative defensively and at the breakdown, but their error rate was ridiculously high. They never got into the match. I'm interested to see how Whetukamokamo Douglas goes at 6, he's had limited opportunities this season. Also looking forward to seeing how Jager goes starting and how our back three of Jordan, Reece and Bridge combine together as a unit.
I think you will see a major bounce back. The Canes know it’s coming and the only question is
whether they can counter it.how much they will lose byFIFY

Yep agree Grace is better suited to 6 it seems with Blackadder back its a matter of trying to get both on the field in the starting 15.

Canes are massive underdogs. If the Crusaders lose this their season will be in disarray.
Be awesome to happen, for the comp and us long suffering fans, but I cannot see it happening. Then I didn't see the Highlanders boil over as even a possibility, either!

It would be good for comp, for sure. I’d be very, very surprised though

@chris i think I like the look of Blackadder more, real workhorse.
Reminds me a bit of Ben Herring.
Huh, really? Short, nippy openside Vs lanky, hard hitting blindside? I wouldn't have made that comparison!

@mikey07 no way, Canes by plenty now we have Ruben Love at the helm. 😜
Too little to late should’ve had at least 4 games of experience by now...Morons!

Yeah, then he'd have almost as many Super caps under his belt as he does NPC matches.

I think the Canes fluked (based on comparing teams) a 1 in say 10-50 win last year. It would need a similar amount of luck this year. And for a 19 year old first who has never played a super or NPC game at first to play like a champ. And for the Cnaes not to get smashed in the line-outs etc
But they have the best selected team for some time. With two good line-out options in the reserves. So its a possibility but a very small one.

@winger we didn't fluke that win, maybe so if we had a few intercepts but the Crusaders were simply out done on the night. We were trecking upwards leading into that game with Jordie and PUJ on fire. The difference this year has been the inconsistency in selections that has pretty much derailed our campaign.
If Holland selected the right players from week 1 I would put my house on us being in a better situation than we are in right now.
In saying that, we will be alot harder to beat today but for me it's hard to go past the Crusaders on the back of that loss last week and the fact they hardly ever lose two matches in a row.
All I want to see today is a shift in attitude and for players like Flanders, Love, PUJ, IWL to shine so Holland finally wakes the f up and keeps them in the top 15 moving forward.
