Hatiest teams

been the saffas for me for the last while. boring shit rugby while steyn was there: 10 man rugby + intercepts by habana is a shit sandwich, drop-kicks instead of going for tries, and then you had guys like botha being dirty as fuck on top of that. then basically trying to continue that but with pollard, who deserves better. also arrogant enough to let their guard down and get done by the japanese (and argies before that to a much lesser extent).

hopefully they start playing some decent footy cause they've got some guys that can play a bit.
-

When you because do you mean?............

Internationally ... probably England. Some of their fans are ok (the ones on here). But the Woodward era, us losing to them at Twickers and the entitlement issues of their press and fanbois within the press make them my least liked team. I blame the media .

Which brings me to the Waratahs. For as long as I can remember the Australian rugby press has been the NSW rugby press. So every year they spouted reasons why it was going to their year (obviously where Neuter got it from) with nothing to back it up. Especially results wise. Hence hatiest. -
The Wallabies. I feel awful saying it since I live in Australia, love the country and would happily lay down my life for it. Myself and my kids are Aus citizens (they're Wallaby supporters). But the 86 Bledisloe and 91 RWC scarred me for life. Brutal insults at school may also have played a part.

I also hate France for 99 and 2007. Once again very unfair, because their supporters are great. Was dry humping the sofa and yelling allez les blues during the most recent encounter. -

England, mostly thanks to Woodward and the English media

Jakeball teams (Brumbies and Stormers)

Waratahs

Canterbury

I'd say the Saders too but they're just my least liked NZ team. If they're in a final vs a non-NZ team, I'll cheer for them.
-

Definitely Saracens (or Saffacens as they are often known) and have been for years.

Have a SA Coach, and actively pusue a lot of SA players.

But actually started when I used to live in North London, (coincidentally Michael Lynagh played for them)

Not only are they an arrogant club who now comprise a number of England players, but the fans wear those tiresome fez caps.

Didn't help that one of my now ex's used to go out with a player either.
-
Italy. 17 years in the 6 nations and they aren't much better, any Tier 2 nation would kill for that sort of regular top flight competition. Now they're forming a road block for the tournament expanding more. Parrise is their only player who looks to visibly give a shit.

Agree with a lot of this but should point out that Mark McCall (head coach) is an Ulsterman.
-

Yeah should have said current coach an Ulsterman with SA leanings.....

But I was actually thinking of when Brendan Venter arrived to coach them, no coincidence he started the whole SA thing,,,
-

Forget hatiest teams, my new second favourite team is good old Scotland

-

As M4L has brought non international teams into the equation and Sammy C and others have proudly declared they care more for franchise and province teams than NZ - Canterbury and the Crusaders top my list (it would be funny if anyone was surprised by this).

I know the 'because'. It was 1999 early in the Super 12 season when I had the pleasure to meet a bloke from Canterbury at a party in some suburb of north London (I can't remember which) who proceeded regale all and sundry about the greatness of Canterbury/Crusaders rugby. Now, Canterbury had been pretty average at NPC level for a few years but that was irrelevant, as was the fact that the Crusaders were a team cobbled together from other provinces and blended in with homegrown guys. Nope, Canterbury was the greatest team to ever walk the face of the earth, the late 80s/early 90s Auckland team were merely pretenders. As the night wore on I was the only one dumb enough to continue to engage with him until I too finally ran out of patience. My memories of chuckling over the delusions of Grant Patterson in the mid 90s - every letter to the editor of the Rugby News would mention every starting Cantab player and how they should be an AB - were replaced by the cold hard fact that he wasn't just an outlier but that there were actually a bunch of dudes who thought this way.

I saw him around the traps for most of that year and then have never seen him again, I could only image how insufferable he would have been after the 9th victory, but there have been various online personas that I thought could conceivably have been him (Phooey, Canerbry, AC, Real Crusader, lately Sammy c has been showing his bonafides after luring us in with some level headedness when he/she first arrived).

Used to be Ireland, now they seem to have dialled back their hilariously misplaced arrogance a fair bit so its time to move on. An Eddie Jones coached England seems like it has massive potential to be my hatiest team, especially if they keep winning.

Still Ireland for me - BODgate, and the arrogance combined with Schmidt keep them on the list with England and Aussie. Although even those two teams are less hateable these days.

I'm still fond of the Saffas, although some of their online fans make it a bit difficult sometimes.

Actually, on that note, I went from looking forward to how the Sunwolves would go, then they named their coach, now I couldn't give two shits.
-

I dont hate any team really. I think that is born out of supporters arrogance though, we simply havent lost to a team consustently enough to 'hate' them. Most of them just have my pity nowdays.

When Aus gets the Bledisloe and we get called chokers or some such.. then I will probably start disliking some teams again. But currently... meh.. we know we are the best... they know we are the best.

I mainly dislike teams that are a threat or have won something I wanted my team to win. Hasnt really happened in quite awhile.
-

As I get older, I get more mellow and don't really care to waste time on sporting hatred now. Hell, I don't even bother winding up Liverpool fans anymore.

If I had to hate somebody though it would probably be the Tahs or the Wallabies. I guess my Australia chip hasn't died away as quick as the others.
-
- Springboks - ingrained into me that they are still "cheating, dirty, filth"

- The McGrath/Warne era Australian Cricket team - even though there are a couple of cricketers in there that I liked to watch play, I just couldn't stand them as a team.

- French rugby team - hate watching their negative style of playing.

- Reds - like M4L, hated them back in the 80s and even more so now.

- Chiefs - need I say more....
-
Fans more than particular teams.
